5 Signs 1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton' Secretive Storyline & Other Red Flags Could Mean She Will Leave The Series (I Don't Think That Would Be A Good Thing)

The 1000-lb Sisters season 7 trailer premiered recently and alluded to a secretive storyline involving Tammy Slaton. Though it's not clear what 38-year-old Tammy is up to, it could be related to her recently expressed desire for more independence. The Slatons are a close-knit family, which has its good and bad sides. Over the years, Tammy has leaned on her family for help, especially before she lost weight. Now that Tammy has lost weight, she has much of her mobility back. Her secret storyline could be a sign that she wants out of doing the show.

When the beloved unscripted show premiered in 2020, Tammy weighed over 600 pounds. She would go on to gain even more weight, weighing 725 at her heaviest. After a health crisis scared her straight, Tammy had bariatric surgery and lost an incredible amount of weight. These days, Tammy yearns for more distance between herself and her family. A mysterious storyline for 1000-lb Sisters season 7 could mean she'll leave the series. Though the rest of the Slaton siblings are wonderful, if Tammy leaves the show, I don't see how it survives her absence.

5 Tammy's Shunning Her Family In The Latest Trailer

"There's Something I Haven't Told My Family"

The announcement of 1000-lb Sisters season 7 came as a surprise as1000-lb Sisters season 6 just recently finished airing. The new season premieres April 15. TLC recently posted a trailer on Instagram, and it alludes to a secret that Tammy is keeping from her family. In the trailer, Tammy is seen sneaking away from her family as she gets into a minivan that takes off. "There's something I haven't told my family," says Tammy. "Cause my family gonna have something to say about it." Tammy keeping secrets from her family is a major red flag.

4 Tammy Has Feuded With Amanda Halterman

"She's Dead To Me"

The Slatons are a fiery bunch, so there's plenty of family drama. During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Tammy was feuding with her sister, 44-year-old Amanda Halterman. The trouble started when Tammy and Amanda butted heads over a rental agreement. Tammy had moved into a house owned by Amanda, and the 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star alleged Amanda didn't take care of the home. Tensions came to a head during an on-camera family meeting, where Tammy and Amanda's feud turned ugly. Tammy stormed out and said Amanda was dead to her.

The sisters didn't speak for several months after the fight. They even missed an annual holiday family gift exchange. After several months of the ongoing feud, their other sister, 37-year-old Amy Slaton, stepped in. Having had enough of Tammy and Amanda's big fight, Amy decided to do something about it. She planned a dinner party and insisted both sisters come. The entire 1000-lb Sisters clan gathered around Amy's table, and Tammy and Amanda finally made amends.

3 Tammy Could Have Drama With Chris & Brittany

A Full House

Another storyline that the trailer alluded to involves Tammy living with her brother, 44-year-old Chris Combs. After her big fight with Amanda, Tammy needed a new place to live. She needed a place fast, and the rental market was tight, so Chris stepped in to save the day. Chris is a fan favorite because he's always there when his family needs him. He and his wife, 36-year-old Brittany Combs, purchased the small house next door to their own. They planned to fix the run-down house as a rental property but decided to rent it to Tammy instead.

If Tammy has drama with Chris and Brittany, it could drive her from the show.

Tammy had to leave Amanda's house before her new house was ready, so the 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star had to move into Chris and Brittany's house for several weeks. Chris's daughter and granddaughter already live in the home, so it's a full house. Chris expressed concern about how living with Tammy could end badly, but he felt he had no choice. If Tammy has drama with Chris and Brittany, it could drive her from the show. Chris made it clear he wanted to help Tammy, but not if it caused trouble in his marriage.

2 Tammy May Leave Kentucky

Finished With The Bluegrass State

Tammy has recently been threatening to leave Kentucky, and it's because of her family. 1000-lb Sisters films in Kentucky, where the show cashes in on lucrative tax incentives designed to lure productions to the Bluegrass state. The incentives are probably what make the show possible. If Tammy moves away from Kentucky, as she has been threatening to do, it could mean the end of the show.

When she weighed over 600 pounds, Tammy had to be driven around in a specialty van with the middle seat ripped out so she could sit on the floor.

Tammy could live in a different state but return to Kentucky during production. However, that wouldn't be a sustainable solution. The bottom line is Tammy and Amy are the stars of 1000-lb Sisters, and if Tammy leaves Kentucky, the show will likely be canceled. Tammy should stop threatening to leave the show, or producers may decide for her. She should also keep in mind that, though she has regained most of her mobility, she's not ready to be independent yet.

The last remaining vestige of Tammy's dependence on her family is her refusal to learn to drive. Before Tammy lost weight, she couldn't fit in a regular car seat, so she never learned to drive. When she weighed over 600 pounds, Tammy had to be driven around in a specialty van with the middle seat ripped out so she could sit on the floor. Now that she can easily fit into the driver's seat of any car, Tammy has resisted learning to drive. Tammy will never be independent until she can drive, but once that happens, her time on the show could be limited.

1 Tammy Might Not Want To Share The Spotlight

Amanda May Take Center Stage

Though Tammy's sister, Amanda, didn't even appear on the show until 1000-lb Sisters season 4, her drama-filled life has made her an entertaining addition. After divorcing her husband, Jason Halterman, Amanda reentered the dating scene. She quickly met a man named Rj, fell in love, and moved to Florida to be with him. RJ ended up ghosting Amanda, so she went back home to Kentucky. She soon meets another man, Leonard Moore, whom she's currently seeing.

As much as I like Amanda, if Tammy leaves, I don't know how long I'll keep watching.

Amanda has been such an entertaining part of the show that she has taken center stage in the series, forcing Tammy and Amy to share the spotlight. Amanda getting more screen time than usual during 1000-lb Sisters season 6 it has led to speculation that Tammy could refuse to share the spotlight. If she decides the show is no longer serving her, Tammy may walk away from the beloved unscripted TLC series for good. As much as I like Amanda, if Tammy leaves, I don't know how long I'll keep watching.
