Mario Cantone explains why he requested that his character have more nudity in And Just Like Thatseason 3. The sequel spinoff was spawned from the well-received Sex and the City, which was a series that originally ran from 1998 to 2004 and was also adapted into two movies. And Just Like That then debuted in 2021 and has had two completed seasons. And Just Like That returns for season 3 on Thursday, May 29, and features Cantone, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Sara Ramirez.

Speaking on the Are You A Charlotte podcast, Cantone shared the unusual request for And Just Like That season 3 to showrunner Michael Patrick King. He told the showrunner before they started filming the season that he wanted "more nudity," explaining that he likes "being sexualized at 65 years old" and found that it was very popular when he had a revealing scene in season 2. Interestingly, Cantone encouraged the showrunner to feature more of his character showing skin. Too often, actors seem inclined to ask show creators how they can scale back their scantily clad scenes. The Boys star Jack Quaid, for example, has expressed his desire for reduced nudity in the show's fifth season after his character was put in promiscuous positions in season 4. Cantone has a very different perspective from many other actors, which he connects directly to his age.
