Italy international Jorginho was linked with Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas, but it’s reported Arsenal could offer him a new contract instead.
The midfielder had been struggling for playing time at Chelsea and was sold to their London rivals for €11.3m in January 2023.
Now 32, he has been revitalised with the Gunners and contributed one goal and one assist in 22 competitive games so far this season.
According to TeamTalk and Turkish site Aksam, there were proposals from Turkish giants Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas for a final push before today’s transfer deadline.
However, Arsenal manager Arteta is determined to keep hold of Jorginho and is even urging the Premier League club to offer him a new contract.
His current deal runs to June 30, but there is an option to extend for another year.
Jorginho has 50 caps for Italy, scoring five goals, and remains in the plans of coach Luciano Spalletti, especially with this improved recent form.
He was named Man of the Match by Sky Sports after the win over Liverpool last week.
Does Jorginho deserve a new Arsenal contract? ✍️
Either way, a move to Turkey has been ruled out… ❌https://t.co/VW2tyH7Nct
