Brahim Diaz: 'I talk more often with Theo Hernandez than with my girfriend'

Real Madrid‘s Brahim Diaz says he will ‘forever’ follow Milan and jokes that he talks more often with Theo Hernandez than with his family and girlfriend.

Brahim scored a stunner in Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.

He had replaced the injured Jude Bellingham, but the Spaniard also suffered a muscle problem in the second half.

“I feel well. I think I have nothing in the calf, so fingers crossed,” the ex-Milan star told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am happy I helped the team with that goal. It was important. The celebration was for my friend Jude [Bellingham] who wanted to play this game. It’s for him.”

The Italian broadcasters asked if this was the best moment in his career.

“Yes, I feel well, but I was happy at Milan, too, and I will forever be grateful to them,” said Brahim.

“I love everyone at the club because I spent three amazing years in Milan, and I am happy here, too.”

Did he talk to Theo Hernandez after the Frenchman’s goal against Napoli last week?

“Of course, I did. I talk more often to him than to my family or my girlfriend,” said Brahim who also confirmed he still watches games of the Rossoneri.

“Sure. I always follow them and will forever do it,” he admitted.

Lastly, the 24-year-old was asked if he dreamt of being called up by Spain’s national team for Euro 2024, when La Roja will face Italy in the group phase.

“What I want do to is to stay with Madrid, help the team and play well here, then we’ll see,” Brahim concluded.
