Gabriele Cioffi says Udinese were ‘strong and lucky’ against Juventus and praises Lautaro Giannetti: ‘He doesn’t speak much, but he hits hard.’

Udinese beat Juventus 1-0 in Turin on Monday night, moving three points above the relegation zone.

“We went through difficult moments, but the lads never gave up, leaving everything on the pitch. We fought hard against a team of champions. It was key to read moments well. We were strong and lucky to get the best result,” Cioffi told Sky Sport Italia.

January signing Giannetti scored his first goal in Serie A.

“He is a silent leader. He doesn’t speak much, but he hits hard. He has brought serenity inside the dressing room, which is something we lacked,” noted Cioffi.

“We didn’t accept what the numbers said and we continued working hard with determination. We are pretty balanced now and we are closer to our target, even if it’s not over yet.”
