Danny Pudi Is Offered A Three-Way In Going Dutch Episode 6 Clip
Going Dutch is a new FOX sitcom starring Denis Leary, and ScreenRant has a clip from the latest episode. The series tells the story of the soldiers at the smallest (fictional) army base in the world, USAG Stroopsdorf, which is situated somewhere in the Netherlands. Audiences are introduced to the base as Denis Leary’s Colonel Patrick Quinn goes on an unfiltered rant and is reassigned to the remote location.
ScreenRant is able to debut a clip from Going Dutch episode 6, “When You Wish Upon A Star”. In the clip, upcoming Community movie star Danny Pudi plays XO Major Abraham Shah, who is nearly roped into a three-way by Jemma Knight Jones’ Major Clark and Jonny Everett’s Colonel O’Connor. Take a look at the clip, below–the full episode airs tonight at 9:30pm ET/PT on FOX.
Why Danny Pudi Is Any Show’s Secret Weapon
Going Dutch might star Denis Leary, but Danny Pudi’s pronounced role as Shah is a great thing for the series. The actor doesn’t typically take, or isn’t given, center stage in his projects, but nonetheless is always able to steal the show thanks to his specific brand of joke delivery and subtle physical comedy. Not only is Pudi funny, but Shah’s quest for romance is a relatable story thread that helps keep audiences engaged through multiple episodes of Going Dutch.
Pudi established himself as a commanding presence on any project in his role of Abed Nadir on Community. Community featured a fantastic ensemble cast led by Joel McHale as Jeff Winger, but Abed was at the center of many of the show’s most gripping storylines and its most memorable sayings (“cool cool cool”, delivered in Pudi’s snappy and detached way, will last forever). Abed even had an effect on show creator Dan Harmon who, while researching Abed’s neurodivergent tendencies, ultimately came to new realizations about his own.
Danny Pudi’s role in Mythic Quest is also a testament to the actor’s versatility. Brad Bakshi, Mythic Quest Studios’ Head of Monetization, is an unabashedly cutthroat representation of capitalistic greed, and gives Pudi the chance to use his acting prowess for evil. Even then, Pudi is able to imbue the character with deep wounds that makes him one of the most compelling on the series. Unfortunately, neither Abed Nadir nor Brad Bakshi have found love in their respective shows so far–here’s hoping things will go differently for Shah.
Going Dutch airs Thursdays at 9:30pm on FOX, and can be streamed next day on Hulu.
