Dragon Ball Daima Is Finally Ready to Address Piccolo's Biggest Missed Opportunity

Dragon Ball Daimais approaching its finale with its next episode, set to release on February 28, bringing the Z Warriors’ journey through the Demon Realm to a close. This installment has been incredibly rewarding, with its standout feature being the seamless reintroduction of iconic elements from the franchise, enhancing the viewing experience for fans. Daima’s biggest surprises have undoubtedly been Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 and Goku’s Super Saiyan 4 transformations. However, the series has also delved deeper into the lore of the Namekians, adding more depth to their existence.

With Neva revealing the tragic past of the Namekians and their connection to the Demon Realm, fans eagerly anticipated a significant moment for the species' most prominent representative, Piccolo. Yet, the series has offered him little time to shine — until now. The finale is ready to change that, as Piccolo steps into the spotlight to battle the Supreme Demon King, Gomah. Given the context provided, Piccolo is set to play a crucial role in defeating Dragon BallDaima’s main villain.

Piccolo Will Be the Key To Defeating Dragon Ball Daima's Main Villain

The Dragon Ball Daima Finale Will Give Piccolo the Much-Needed Spotlight He Deserves

Dragon Ball Daima Episode #19 saw Vegeta overpowering Gomah after regaining his normal body and unleashing his ultimate Super Saiyan 3 form. Despite Gomah wielding the third-eye artifact, it was clear that Vegeta was far stronger. However, the artifact’s special ability to grant the Demon King infinite stamina and heal any damage made him an insurmountable challenge for any of the Z Warriors. As a result, the key to defeating Gomah lies in removing the third-eye artifact, and thanks to Dr. Arinsu, the crew now knows exactly how to do it.

No Pressure, But Piccolo Could Be the Key That Finally Makes Me Like Dragon Ball Daima

The weight of this particular theory I came up with is definitely considerable when recognizing just how critical I've been about Dragon Ball Daima.

Since removing the artifact requires striking Gomah on the back of his head, Piccolo has been chosen for this role while Goku acts as a decoy. Given Vegeta's exhaustion and, per Bulma’s orders, he will no longer be able to participate. Not only will this ensure victory, as Piccolo is the third-strongest character from the present Z Warriors, but it will give the Namekian the long-overdue spotlight he was promised from the start. However, it's worth pointing out that there was one other way Daima could have given Piccolo a significant part, and they could still do it.

Dragon Ball Daima Still Has a Chance To Give Piccolo A Boost

Let Piccolo Evolve as a Main Player in the Z Warriors

With Neva unveiling the tragic past of the Namekians, fans increasingly expected him to shed light on his predecessor, the Nameless Namekian, from whom Piccolo originated. Such a revelation could have given Piccolo his first true character development in ages, potentially unlocking hidden potential, particularly in magic, as Neva himself has demonstrated. However, this was never addressed, leaving Piccolo’s past largely unexplored.

That said, Neva could still provide Piccolo with a power boost, much like he did when helping Goku unlock Super Saiyan 4. Now that Piccolo is the key to defeating Gomah, Neva might awaken his hidden potential as a precaution, possibly even leading to the reemergence of Orange Piccolo. Dragon Ball Daima might miss the biggest opportunity to give Piccolo meaningful character growth, but at least fans can at least take comfort in knowing he played a pivotal role in defeating the series’ main villain.
