Dragon Ball Just Set the Stage For an Ultimate Super Saiyan 3 Fusion: Here's How

Dragon Ball Daima's finale is rapidly approaching, and the latest episode #17, "Gomah", kicked off what will likely be the anime's climactic final battle. To this point, the series has focused primarily on adventure and exploration, but with all the main pieces finally together in the First Demon World, the time has come for action to take priority. The evil King Gomah, with the Third Eye planted in his forehead, proved himself to be quite a threat, and Goku will need to fight with everything he has in order to win.

Something Goku has and may need, which Daima has taken the time to remind the audience of on numerous occasions, is a pouch of Medi-Bugs. One of those bugs has the power to fuse multiple fighters together, creating an all-new, incredibly powerful warrior. Fusion has long been one of Dragon Ball's most popular techniques, and with Daima coming to a close, the series has the opportunity to introduce another, long-awaited Super Saiyan 3 fused fighter.

Goku and Vegeta Have What It Takes for a Super Saiyan 3 Fusion

Vegeta Has Access to Super Saiyan 3 for the First Time Ever

One of the many long-running jokes among fans of Dragon Ballwas Vegeta's lack of a Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and for nearly three decades, this joke persisted. Dragon Ball Daima, however, put an end to the humor, and finally gave Vegeta the transformation he'd always been missing. More than just doing right by the prince, his new form opens the door to several possibilities, one being an all-new Super Saiyan 3 fusion between Goku and Vegeta.

Until now, the only Super Saiyan 3 fused fighter was Gotenks, as Vegeta's lack of knowledge about the transformation held both Vegito and Gogeta to regular Super Saiyan forms. Now, both of the franchise's leading Saiyans have a full understanding of Super Saiyan 3, meaning any fusion between them will be able to use the ability. Fans have long imagined what Vegito might have been capable of during the Buu Saga had he been able to surpass Super Saiyan, and Daima has the chance to show off what that could have looked like.

The Newest Super Saiyan 3 Fusion Might Be an All-New Character

A Fusion Using Join Bugs Has Never Taken Place Before

Dragon Ball's fusion techniques are relatively simple: Vegito is the product of the Potara earrings, and Gogeta is the product of the fusion dance. Only these two methods have been shown to have the ability to bring about either character. Now that Daima has brought Join Bugs into the picture, however, there's no telling what a different fusion method used by Goku and Vegeta might bring about, but it's likely to be a character fans have never seen before.

When Medi-Bugs were first introduced in Daima, a sign advertising the bugs was shown on screen briefly, and hinted that more than two users are able to fuse at once. Three-person fusions are an entirely new territory for the franchise and open up countless possibilities for who exactly the newest character might be. Goku, Vegeta, and Shin might make for a powerful fighter, while Goku, Vegeta, and Glorio would have access to strong magical abilities. Any trio fusion between the heroes would be interesting, but there's also a chance Goku and Vegeta don't use the bugs at all.

Goku's Join Bugs Might Be Used By Other Fighters

Two Other Characters Would Make a Powerful Fusion

In a very brief moment during episode #17's battle, the pouch of medi-bugs was shown falling out of Goku's possession. While it likely wouldn't be all that difficult to retrieve them, there are two other characters currently fighting Gomah that would benefit from fusion. Kuu and Duu, the anime's newest Majins, have won over fans' hearts rather quickly, and their combined power would make for a fearsome warrior. The lovable duo may very well use the bugs, leaving Goku and Vegeta to borrow Shin's potara earrings and become Vegito.

Regardless of whatever fusion between Goku and Vegeta ends up appearing, fans are sure to be incredibly excited about being able to witness the relatively rare technique in action. Dragon Ball Daima doesn't have very long to go, but its final episodes are guaranteed to be brimming with fast-paced, masterfully animated action. It's possible the newest Super Saiyan 3 fusion will appear as soon as the next episode, and fans won't want to miss the reveal.
