Although I had heard of Zakopane before coming, what I found was a COMPLETE surprise to me. Never had I known that this type of stunning mountain landscape existed in Poland. And I couldn’t be happier about it! If you visit Krakow, driving to Zakopane should be a top priority. I dare say this destination has something for everyone. Frequent hikers will LOVE hiking through the Tatra Mountains National Park. Those who are less active can enjoy mountain views from Zakopane itself while sipping coffee from a roof top café – or take a quick 5 minute cable car ride to stunning viewpoints! And if you are looking for a relaxing getaway, Zakopane is a true spa-heaven waiting to be explored.
