In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns, Kane talked about a potential romantic future for Eliot. The star is skeptical he will find romance again soon, but also refuses to rule it out. He detailed that it would be tough for Eliot to find someone he could trust again, like he did with Maria, before revealing that Sophie might be ready to go back into the dating world. Absolutely not. [Laughs] Well, we all saw how that went. I think so, I think it's going to be a tough thing. I think it's going to be somebody like the US Marshall — I'm so glad you brought her up — that's going to have to ground it, but that's true. I don't know if that's in the cards for Eliot, and I think that it would be an unbelievable thing for the writers to be able to try to find that.
There have been talks about stuff like that for years and years, and I always say, "Well, it's never going to happen." But then again, we also talked about my dad, and then my dad came back in last season, so don't put anything past them. We're all broken toys. It just seems to be that Sophie is healing faster than everybody else, I gotta be honest with you, and you see a lot of that this season. It's really fun to watch Gina play that.

The Team's Enforcer Is Unlikely To Open Himself Up Again Any Time Soon

Kane's comments are interesting, as he believes it unlikely that Eliot will find romance again, and that it would be tough for the writers to do. However, he also concedes that he believed Eliot's backstory would never be explored, and it was. The nature of the team's business and Eliot's role as a career criminal mean it will be difficult to find someone he can get close to without scaring her away or endangering her. His profession was the reason that caused Maria to break up with him.

While the character could be open to finding love again, it would have to be in the right circumstances. However, having been through a breakup with Maria, he may choose to shy away from romantic attachments again.
