Every Dinosaur In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

Warning: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 3!

Netflix’sJurassic World: Chaos Theory includes dozens of dinosaurs who’ve already appeared, as well as a few new additions. Since Stephen Spielberg adapted the eponymous book by Michael Crichton, the Jurassic Park franchise has continued to expand, garnering billions of dollars. While the movies are discussed the most frequently, Netflix has also released Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and the sequel series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.

The first animated series follows six teens who are stranded on Isla Nublar, which is filled with dinosaurs. However, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory puts dinosaurs and the Nublar Six in the real world, as occurs in the Jurassic World movie trilogy. Because the show crosses three continents, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has the luxury of showing a wide variety of dinosaurs, which keeps the story entertaining and fresh.

The term dinosaur technically only applies to extinct land-dwelling reptiles with upright limbs that lived during the Mesozoic era, but this article will use the word colloquially.

30 Allosaurus

The Primary Villain Of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 1

When Brooklynn is presumed dead in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, her supposed murderer is a half-blind Allosaurus. Darius spends almost all of Jurassic World season 1 hunting down this dinosaur, not realizing that the handler actually sent the Atrociraptors to kill her. The Netflix show also pulled a bait-and-switch, making it seem like the Allosaurus took Brooklynn’s arm when, in reality, Ghost bit the left arm off.

The same allosaurus is later seen in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 3, episode 9, “Active Pursuit,” going through Malta. Some fans speculate that the Allosaurus in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is the one in the short film Battle at Big Rock, too, because of the specific markings on the dinosaur’s face. However, this hasn’t been directly confirmed.

29 Ankylosaurus

The Nublar Six Develop A Bond With Two Ankylosauruses

The ankylosaurus is a dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period that appears in every feature-length movie except Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World (1997). Two specific Ankylosauruses appear as recurring characters in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Bumpy is first introduced in Camp Cretaceous, and viewers get to see her in Chaos Theory as an adult living at Sammy’s farm. They panic that Bumpy is dying, only to learn that she actually got pregnant. She comes back into play at the end of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 3, when Kenji and Sammy learn she’s now in the Biosyn Preserve.

Then, in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 3, another ankylosaurus is introduced when Bumpy’s egg finally hatches. They name him Smoothie. Kenji takes over as the protective dad for Smoothie by feeding him, playing with him, and (later) searching for him when he gets lost.

28 Apatosaurus

Few dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory appear onscreen, but not as living, breathing animals. However, the Apatosaurus is one of them. The sauropod plant-eater is part of the symbol of the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife, and it can be seen on the vehicles and uniforms of the DPW characters.

27 Archeopteryx

The Feathered Dinosaur Appears In Gia's Book

During Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 3, the Nublar Six (minus Brooklynn) and Gia are shocked to find that a dinosaur left a feather on the truck. They hadn’t seen a feathered dinosaur before, so they turned to the books to find an explanation. Gia finds the Archeopteryx as a possible source of the feather from her book, but this ends up not being the case.

26 Atrociraptor

Atrociraptors Remain The Major Weapon Of The Broker

The atrociraptors are first introduced in Jurassic World Dominion as vicious “designer dinosaurs” trained to hunt and attack. The pack of four – Ghost, Panthera, Red, and Tiger – show up under the control of Santos in the final movie of the Jurassic World trilogy. The Netflix show offers more context about what they did prior to Dominion, who trained them, and where their loyalties lie.

The Jurassic Park franchise’s coolest and scariest character, The Handler, controls the pack throughout Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Her loving and protective behavior towards her atrociraptors offers humanity to the otherwise vicious side. She sends them after the Nublar Six, planning to kill them because they get too close to knowing the truth about the worldwide dinosaur conspiracy. Despite Santos’ efforts to turn the atrociraptors against The Handler, they ultimately remain loyal to her until the very end.

25 Baryonyx

Two types of Baryonyx appear in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, and the traditional dinosaur is only shown at the end of season 1 and the first episode of season 2. This genus of spinosaur, which is introduced in the Jurassic World movies, is being transported in an illegal DPW drop and on the cargo ship.

24 Becklespinax

A Pair Of Vicious Predators Terrorize The Dinosaur Danger-Free Island

One of the newest additions to the Jurassic World franchise is Becklespinax, which debuts and has only been seen in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 1. Santos sent two DPW officers with a pair of Becklespinaxes named Blonde and Brunette to the Dinosaur Danger-Free Island to kill Yaz, Ben, and Sammy. The two dinosaurs have an insatiable aggression towards their targets, which can be seen by Blonde’s continued attempts to kill them even when they’re in the van. One of the Becklespinax later mauls one of the officers, proving that not even the DPW has true control over them.

23 Brachiosaurus

Brachiosauruses and other sauropods are some of the most popular dinosaurs, so it’s unsurprising that they make appearances, albeit briefly, in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. They’re present in the final episode of season 1 alongside other captive dinosaurs. Then, they’re present in Senegal when the Camp Family arrives. The brachiosauruses are extremely calm and don’t seem fazed by humans in either season 1 or 2. This leads to a hilarious interaction where Kenji tries to roar at them with no response.

22 Carnotaurus

The Carnotaurus first appears in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory as the hologram programmed by Yaz. However, the dinosaur appears as a living being at the end of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory seasons 1 and 3. The green Carnotaurus breaks out of containment, causing havoc at the dock. Then, in season 3, Sonoya Santos uses the laser pointer to sick a Carnotaurus on The Handler. The dinosaur swallows them whole after killing Ghost, the Atrociraptor.

21 Ceratosaurus

The Ceratosaurus was a major player in the climax of Jurassic Park III, and it returned in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. The dinosaur is finally introduced in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory in the final episode of season 3. Unfortunately, the appearance is extremely brief. The Ceratosaurus tries to kill a giant locust, goes outside, and ends up getting attacked by an Allosaurus.
