Every Player On The USA Men's Basketball Team In The 2024 Paris Olympics Explained
WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Court of Gold.
Netflix's Court of Gold features exclusive interviews and in-game coverage of Team USA on their path to a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Team USA has been a dominant force in international basketball, medaling in all 20 of its appearances since 1936 and winning gold a staggering 17 times. The 2024 Team USA Men's Basketball team, nicknamed "The Avengers", is considered one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled, on par with 1992's legendary Dream Team consisting of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and more. Court of Gold received strong reviews after its mid-February release on Netflix.
Some of the most shocking reveals in Netflix's Court of Gold docuseries are centered around its elite leaders, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry. NBA Hall of Famer and USA Basketball Men's National Team managing director Grant Hill named Steve Kerr the head coach of 2024's Team USA following Kerr's four NBA Championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022) with the Golden State Warriors over the last decade. Kerr's coaching staff featured a slate of college and NBA greats, including Tyronn Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers, Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat, and Mark Few of the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Davis plays both the power forward and center positions and is one of the most versatile big men in the NBA. Davis first played for Team USA in the 2012 Olympic Games in London before rejoining the team in 2024.
Davis isn't featured extensively in Court of Gold but ranked second in efficiency (16.8) and rebounds (6.7) per game, behind LeBron James in both categories. Davis wore number 14 for Team USA but currently wears number 3 for the Mavericks. He averaged 8.3 points, 1.5 blocks, 1.3 steals, and 16.6 minutes per game during the 2024 Paris Olympics. He played a tournament-high 20 minutes in the gold deal match against Team France in which he secured a team-best 9 rebounds. Davis has two Olympic gold medals in two appearances.
11 Anthony Edwards
Minnesota Timberwolves
Anthony "Ant-Man" Edwards, 23, is one of the NBA's top rising stars. A shooting guard and small forward for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Edwards has undeniable confidence and charisma that makes him a formidable and versatile threat on the court. Despite being the youngest player, Ant-Man averaged 16.3 minutes and 12.8 points during the 2024 Paris Olympics in his first-ever Team USA appearance.

"F**k Kyrie": What Anthony Edwards Said About Kyrie Irving In Starting 5 & During The NBA Playoffs
The Timberwolves' star Anthony Edwards is known for speaking his mind but new Netflix docuseries Starting 5 explores one time he regretted his words.
Edwards, who wore his T-Wolves number 5 for Team USA, scored a team-high 26 points in the final game of the opening round against Team Puerto Rico, going 11/15 from the field. The number 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has already made three consecutive All-Star appearances and is widely considered one of the future faces of the NBA.
10 Bam Adebayo
Miami Heat
Bam Adebayo, 27, is a 3-time NBA All-Star who has played for the Miami Heat since 2017 after being selected as the 14th overall pick. Adebayo wore his signature number 13 for Team USA, making his second Olympic appearance after winning gold in Tokyo in 2020.
A power forward and center, Adebayo averaged just over 16 minutes and 6 points per game, although he exploded for a team-high 18 points and 25 efficiency rating in Team USA's opening-round victory over South Sudan. One of the best defenders in the NBA, Adebayo was selected for the NBA's All-Defensive First or Second Team every year since 2020.
9 Derrick White
Boston Celtics
Derrick White, 30, is a shooting guard and NBA Champion, one of three 2024 Team USA players from the Boston Celtics. White, known for his defensive tenacity and three-point shooting ability, averaged 15.8 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game during the Paris Olympics, which marked his first-ever Olympic appearance.
White went a perfect 3/3 from beyond the arc during Team USA's commanding win over South Sudan in the group phase but failed to score in his 7 minutes of court time during Team USA's semi-final game against Team Serbia. White did not play in the gold medal match against Team France.
8 Devin Booker
Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker, 28, is a 4-time NBA All-Star and shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns, where he has played since he was drafted with the 13th overall pick in 2015. Booker previously played for Team USA in 2020 and won a gold medal in Tokyo. Booker, who is known to non-basketball fans as Kendall Jenner's boyfriend of two years, started in several of Team USA's 2024 Olympic games, including the gold medal match against Team France.
Booker averaged 22 minutes, 11.7 points, and 2.7 rebounds during Team USA's six total Olympic matchups, finishing third in team total assists with 3.3. Booker scored a team-high 18 points against Team Brazil in Team USA's 122-87 quarterfinal blowout victory.

Boston Celtics
Jayson Tatum, 26, is one of the best players in the NBA and in the celebrated history of the Boston Celtics. A 6-time NBA All-Star and recent NBA champion, Tatum was selected by the Celtics as the third overall pick in the 2017 draft. He won two gold medals with Team USA, 2020 in Tokyo and 2024 in Paris.

The True Story Behind Celtics' Jayson Tatum Agreeing To Netflix's Starting 5 Makes The Documentary Way More Heartwarming
Originally, Jayson Tatum wasn't supposed to be a part of Starting 5 right away. But for a surprising reason, the player was motivated to join.
Although Tatum didn't play in either of Team USA's two games against Team Serbia, which raised some eyebrows in sports media, he averaged 17.7 minutes in the four games he did play but only 11 minutes in the final against Team France. Tatum scored 21 total points in his four Olympic Games, which is surprising compared to his nearly 27 points per game average during the 2023-2024 NBA season, the seventh-highest in the NBA. Tatum is also notably not interviewed and hardly featured in Court of Gold but took the spotlight in another Netflix NBA docuseries, Starting 5.
6 Joel Embiid
Philadelphia 76ers
Joel Embiid, 30, is a Cameroonian-American center who's played his entire NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers after being drafted with the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Embiid made his first Team USA appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, although he could have played for Team Cameroon (who likley wouldn't have qualified) or Team France since he has dual citizenship.
Embiid played in five of Team USA's six Olympic matchups, sitting out the second game against South Sudan. He averaged 16.8 minutes, 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game, finishing second in scoring in the semi-final game against Team Serbia with 19 points. Embiid was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2023 and is a 7-time All-Star.

Holiday averaged 18.8 minutes, 7.6 points, and 3.6 assists during his five of six Olympic Games in Paris. Although Holiday sat for Team USA's matchup against Puerto Rico, he started in Team USA's quarterfinal matchup against Team Brazil and played nearly 19 minutes in the gold medal match against Team France.
4 Kevin Durant
Phoenix Suns
Kevin "KD" Durant is featured extensively throughout Court of Gold. He is the top scorer in Olympic basketball history (518 points) and the first male American basketball player to ever win four Olympic gold medals. Before 2024 in Paris, Durant previously won gold in 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio), and Tokyo (2020), making him the most decorated U.S. Olympic basketball player of all time.
Durant had a sensational opening round game against Team Serbia, scoring a commanding 23 points off the bench and going 8/9 in the game. He would go on to score 15 points in the gold medal match against Team France, only shooting 5/12 from the floor in his 31 minutes played. Durant is a 2-time NBA Champion and 2-time NBA Finals MVP (2017, 2018) under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors, the 2014 NBA MVP, the 2008 Rookie of the Year, and a 15-time NBA All-Star.

James was also part of the Team USA that won bronze in Athens in 2012, making him a 4-time Olympic medalist.

Netflix's Starting 5 Documentary Confirms The NBA's Real LeBron James Replacement

James put on a dominant performance in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, leading Team USA in efficiency (23.5), rebounds (6.8), and assists (8.5) per game. LeBron clocked 32 total minutes played in both the Team Serbia semifinal and the Team France final, averaging 14.2 points in his six games and securing a triple-double against Serbia (16 points, 10 assists, 12 rebounds). James joked in Court of Gold that he plans to coach Team USA in 2028 at the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
