Only two episodes of Fox's Farmer Wants A Wife have aired, but Samantha Riehl is already the villain of the season. Samantha came on the show for Farmer John Sansone and made a name for herself during the speed dating. She was John's pick to go to his farm a day early and spend 24 hours without the other Farmer Wants A Wife cast members interrupting them. However, Samantha has made it clear that she's on the show for herself first and foremost, and she may not even be on the show for love at all.

John calls himself an urban cowboy, making him markedly different from the other farmers on this season of Farmer Wants A Wife. John is also not a full-time farmer, as he's currently in law school. This may be what attracted Samantha to him in the first place. She kept true to her interests, even if they didn't align with the farmer's, which I thought was admirable.

I also saw Samantha make it clear where her priorities lie. She asked John about his definition of loyalty because Samantha was ready to go home if they weren't on the same page. Although the audience is watching Farmer John's journey, Samantha is making her wants and needs known. While this may have painted her as the villain, I think Samantha is right to make sure she and John are actually compatible, and it's commendable that she'll leave the show if they aren't.

In the most shocking moment of the season so far, Samantha refused a kiss from Farmer John. She had her reasons; namely, she didn't want to kiss a man on camera if they didn't end up getting married, as she wouldn't want her future husband to see her do that. However, the interaction left John and the audience confused.

I believe it's possible Samantha didn't want to kiss John simply because she was not interested in him. I know that is she did go on the show for more followers, that would solidify that she is the villain of the season. Either way, I see her driving attention and having a solid presence.
