Genshin Impact 5.6 Leaks: New Free Event Weapon Explained

A new free event weapon for Genshin Impact 5.6 has leaked, and while free 4-star weapons are always good news for players – especially those who don’t put in too much money or effort into obtaining 5-star gear for their characters – this particular bow may be extremely underwhelming. The action RPG by HoYoverse has just entered Version 5.5, a new patch that further expands Natlan with the introduction of a new map area called Atocpan, which contains the Great Volcano of Tollan and the Collective of Plenty tribe, from which both Iansan and Varesa in Genshin Impact hail.

However, the Version 5.6 beta tests have started and, with them, several key pieces of information about the update are being leaked. So far, there have been rumors about new playable characters, a new buff with a combination of two unexpected elements, a new weekly boss, and even a new world boss in Genshin Impact 5.6. From what has been leaked so far, the upcoming patch will likely be a large one, and new leaks have indicated the presence of a large flagship event, which is likely linked to the aforementioned new leaked free event weapon.

The Bow Allegedly Offers An HP Sub-Stat

According to information provided by the leaker known as Seele Leaks, a new 4-star weapon may be introduced in Version 5.6. As seen in the picture provided by the leaker, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, it is a bow. The weapon is mainly black and gold with mechanical and gear elements attached to it, most of which resemble the architecture and aesthetic elements from Fontaine. If this is a weapon related to a limited-time event, it’s likely that it will be a reward for an event set in Fontaine in Genshin Impact 5.6.

In a subsequent leak, also provided by Seele Leaks, this weapon’s stats and skill were revealed. According to the information, this 4-star bow offers 510 base ATK (at level 90) and a 41.4% HP sub-stat (at level 90). Furthermore, the skill allegedly sees that when an attack hits an opponent, it will deal AoE DMG at the target’s location based on 40% of the equipping character’s Max HP. This effect can be triggered every 15 seconds. The leak about the Genshin Impact 5.6 free event weapon was also shared in a post on Reddit.

The Weapon’s Leaked Stats & Skill Are Bad

Based on the bow’s leaked stats, this 4-star event weapon may be extremely underwhelming for a series of reasons. The first of them is its considerably low HP sub-stat. While 41.4% is a high figure, for HP, it’s a bit on the lower end – for reference, this amount of CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate would be huge. The Silvershower Heartstrings bow offers a 66.1% HP sub-stat (at level 90), but it is a 5-star weapon. In comparison, the 3-star Recurve Bow has 46.9% HP sub-stat (at level 90), superior to that offered by the leaked bow.

This makes it a poor choice for Sigewinne or Yelan in Genshin Impact, the two bow users who scale off of Max HP.

Furthermore, the weapon’s skill is terrible. Not only does it deal one instance of damage, but the effect is limited to occur every 15 seconds, which is not really what players should be after. Weapons that provide continuous effects or at least effects with shorter cooldowns are often better. The 3-star Recurve Bow does that, too, granting an 8% HP restoration after each defeated enemy. For both Yelan and Sigewinne, who scale off of Max HP and would be compatible with it, there are better options, so this leaked Version 5.6 weapon may be left in your inventory.

HP Weapons In Genshin Impact Are Still A Big Problem

This isn’t the first time that HP-scaling weapons have proved to be a problem with the game. For example, Zhongli’s shielder build in Genshin Impact still uses the 3-star polearm Black Tassel, which provides a huge HP sub-stat and is significantly better than his other options, like the 5-star Staff of Homa. The 5-star polearm is great but is more inclined into a DPS build, such as Hu Tao’s, for whom it was designed. The event-exclusive Dialogues of the Desert Sages 4-star polearm also offers an HP sub-stat, but it is inferior to Black Tassel’s.

Aside from catalyst users, who have several good and consistent HP-scaling weapons, all other character types struggle with weapons that boost HP, and this leaked weapon for Version 5.6 is proof of that. The weapon could still be modified over the course of the beta tests, perhaps surpassing Recurve Bow, but all the information should still be taken with a grain of salt, as Genshin Impact leaks could prove to be inaccurate by the time the next patch arrives.
