Ghosts Season 4, Episode 12 Gives Closure To Hetty & Trevor's Romance (But With An Exciting Twist)

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Ghosts season 4, episode 12.

Ghosts season 4, episode 12 finally provides long-awaited closure to Hetty and Trevor’s chaotic relationship which unfolded over seasons 2 and 3. The Woodstone Manor ghosts have never let death keep them from living their lives, forming friendships, and even romantic relationships. As a former Gilded Age socialite and 90s finance bro, Hetty and Trevor share an appreciation for luxury and status that sets them apart from the rest of the ghosts in CBS' Ghosts. This shared outlook fueled their flirtatious dynamic, which blossomed into a secret romance in season 2.

In the spectral dating scene, Thor and Flower are finally in a happy relationship, while Isaac called off his wedding to Nigel. Hetty and Trevor broke up in season 3 and have not spent much time together since Ghosts season 4, episode 12, which finally gives Hetty and Trevor the closure their relationship deserves and introduces an unexpected new chapter to their friendship. As two of Woodstone Manor’s most cunning schemers, their renewed friendship could spell trouble for Sam and Jay.

Hetty & Trevor Officially End Their Romance But Reconnects As Friends

Hetty Suggests Forming An Alliance As “Power Friends”

When they first got together in Ghosts season 2, Hetty wanted to keep her relationship with Trevor secret due to their different class statuses, but their undeniable attraction made secrecy difficult to maintain for long. Their relationship was on-again, off-again until season 3, episode 2, when Hetty tried to seduce Thor, believing it would automatically "suck off" any ghost. Trevor found this disrespectful to himself and Thor, so he ended their relationship for good, and he has not had much interaction with Hetty since.

Hetty apologized for the way their relationship ended and proposed an alliance with “the ultimate goal of ruling the house." Ghosts will now see Hetty and Trevor redefine their dynamic not as a power couple but as “power friends.”

Hetty’s Ghost Powers Might Be Revealed

Hetty and Trevor are the two best social puppet masters in Ghosts, so having them team up is a perfect recipe to create mischief at Woodstone Manor. The ghosts have been in smaller squabbles before - over bedroom selection or what TV show to watch - but an overarching power grab would raise the stakes, especially if the ghosts in the CBS show use their powers against each other once they learn mind games are afoot. Ghosts season 4 has teased the reveal of Hetty’s ghost power, making this alliance even more intriguing.

New episodes of Ghosts air Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on CBs, and are available to stream next-day on Paramount+. Ghosts season 4, episode 13, "Ghostfellas" will air February 20, 2025.

Although Hetty initially suggested teaming up against the other ghosts, Sam and Jay ultimately hold the real power in Ghosts, so it is only a matter of time before they turn their sights on the “livings.” With the B&B and restaurant finally open, the stakes are higher than ever for Sam and Jay, leaving them potentially vulnerable to Woodstone Manor’s new power friends, like they were to Patient's ghost power. While the ghosts seem to have accepted the opening of the B&B, maybe Hetty and Trevor's newfound alliance decides it's time to reclaim the manor.
