Multiple sources claim F1 star Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari next year and his move to Maranello has been compared by Italian media to Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus in 2018.
Il Corriere della Sera reported on Thursday that Hamilton would join Ferrari in 2025 and Sky Sports UK confirmed an official statement is expected later today.
It is undoubtedly the biggest sports news in the country despite the many football transfer rumours and deals completed on the deadline day.
Speaking about Hamilton’s move to Ferrari next year, Sky Sport Italia’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio made a comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus in 2018.
“In football, we have struggled a bit to convince top players to move to Serie A instead of Premier League or Bundesliga after Cristiano Ronaldo and I hope that in the future, a champion of Hamilton’s calibre will arrive in Serie A,” said the journalist.
It is also a similar sort of deal as Exor is the holding company of both Juventus and Ferrari and, as highlighted by Il Corriere della Sera, Hamilton will bring to Ferrari “quality, knowledge and prestige as well as the charisma of a star that is known beyond the motorsport world, increasing the value of the brand.”

Hamilton is 39 😂 And Ferrari have been miles off it as a constructor for nearly 20 years now. Unless something drastically changes, all we will see is disagreements between him and Leclerc and then ultimately an exit post an unsuccessful short stint before retirement.
