Helly Says Exactly What We’ve All Been Thinking About The Eagan Family In Severance’s Season 2 Finale

In Severance, Helly has never been afraid to point out how weird Lumon and the Eagans are. This is ironic, since her outie is actually Helena Eagan. During the Overtime Contingency Protocol in the season 1 finale, Helly got a glimpse of Helena's life, and even got to speak with Jame Eagan, the current CEO of Lumon Industries. Throughout Severance season 2, more is revealed about Helena's relationship with her father. However, at the end of Severance season 2, Helly also gets to have another conversation with Jame Eagan.

Helly and Helena are two of the most interesting characters in Severance. On the severed floor of Lumon Industries, Helly is rebellious and may very well start a revolt against Lumon in Severance season 3. Meanwhile, in the outside world, Helena is trapped in her mundane life and is practically controlled by her father. The hit Apple TV+ show's second season revealed a lot about both characters, but one of the most interesting scenes of Severance season 2 revolves around Helly and Jame Eagan.

The Severance season 2 finale is possibly the best episode of the entire series. So much happens in the season 2 finale that it's easy to forget about the conversation between Helly and Jame Eagan. At the beginning of the episode, Jame Eagan greets Helly on the severed floor. This is actually the first time in the series that Jame has been on the severed floor. During this conversation, Jame tells Helly that she tricked him during the Overtime Contingency Protocol, but he's not necessarily mad about it.

In fact, Jame Eagan seems to admire Helly. He reveals to her that he doesn't love his daughter and no longer believes she reflects the teachings of Kier Eagan. However, Jame claims that he "sees Kier" in Helly. Throughout the series, Helly has continuously proved that she is a confident and capable leader, just like Kier Eagan was. Although, Helly obviously doesn't take this as a compliment, and responds to Jame by saying, "God, you're f***ing weird."

The Eagans Have Formed A Cult-Like Community In Severance

Hearing Helly call Jame Eagan weird was such a satisfying moment in the Severance season 2 finale. There are still many unanswered questions about the Eagans in Severance, but it is clear that they are all very weird and socially quite strange. The Eagans all follow a philosophy that was started by Kier Eagan, and have essentially formed a cult around it. In addition to creating the perfect severed employee and removing sadness from people's lives, the ultimate goals of the Eagans is still unclear in Severance.

While their true objective is still unknown, it seems obvious that they are all evil. The weird traits of the Eagans have also extended to other Lumon followers, such as Harmony Cobel, Milchick, and Mr. Drummond. The belief system that the Eagans and Lumon's most loyal followers have adopted has led to them all consistently behaving very strangely. Therefore, it was hilarious to see Helly point this out to Jame Eagan in the Severance season 2 finale.
