How Much Money Taylor Sheridan’s Shows Make For Paramount+ Reportedly Revealed
Paramount+'s streaming revenue for Taylor Sheridan shows has reportedly been revealed. The streaming platform, which originally debuted as CBS All Access, is owned by Paramount Global and includes titles from various brands such as Showtime, CBS, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, the Smithsonian Channel, and Paramount Pictures. A major staple of the library of Paramount+ shows is the Star Trek universe, with a wide roster of exclusive programs including the animated show Lower Decks as well as the live-action series Discovery, Picard, and Strange New Worlds.
Another staple of the Paramount+ library is the collection of shows created or executive produced by Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan. This includes the Yellowstone spinoffs1883 and 1923, the crime dramas Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King, the espionage thriller Special Ops: Lioness, the Western Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the neo-Western Landman. These shows feature a cadre of major stars, including Jeremy Renner, Sylvester Stallone, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña, Billy Bob Thornton, Helen Mirren, and Harrison Ford.
Taylor Sheridan Has Made Paramount+ Hundreds Of Millions
He Has More Than Half A Dozen Shows On The Platform
Taylor Sheridan shows have reportedly made a huge amount of money for Paramount+ in terms of subscriber revenue. Subscriber revenue can be difficult to calculate in terms of individual series, as streaming services typically offer access to their full library for a monthly fee. However, viewership data (including the first show watched and how many episodes of which shows are viewed), combined with those subscriber totals, can offer insight into which shows have been the ones to draw the most unique subscribers to various platforms.
Every show that Taylor Sheridan has created or executive produced since 2021 has been a Paramount+ exclusive.
Per TheWrap, Parrot Analytics has now calculated Paramount+'s subscriber revenue for Taylor Sheridan's shows since the premiere of Mayor of Kingstown in 2021. This data, which only includes shows that are exclusive to the platform as opposed to those that premiered elsewhere and are now streaming on Paramount+, is up-to-date as of the third quarter of 2024 and thus does not include Landman, which premiered in November. Collectively, the shows have reportedly earned $263 million for the streaming service.
Mayor of Kingstown has proven to be the most profitable, earning more than $60 million. In descending order, it is followed by Tulsa King at roughly $50 million, 1883 at more than $40 million, 1923 at almost exactly $40 million, Special Ops: Lioness at just above $30 million, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves at roughly $20 million. At various times over the years, the top three shows have taken different positions in the overall hierarchy, though the bottom three have remained at the same level throughout their runs. The Streamer's Profitability Is Still In Question
Taylor Sheridan shows have pulled in an enormous amount of money for Paramount+. In fact, they have collectively earned more than many hit movies did at the box office in 2024, including A Quiet Place: Day One ($261.9 million) and Bob Marley: One Love ($180.9 million). However, given the fact that these shows typically have large budgets - particularly 1883, which reportedly cost $169 million to produce - it is unclear if this number means that the shows are actually profitable for the platform.
