Love Is Blindseason 8 cast member Brittany Dodson opened up to Screen Rant about her time in the pods, sharing the reasons behind her shocking decisions within her relationship with Devin Buckley. Brittany, one of the Love Is Blind season 8 pod squad cast members, was excited about the opportunity to experience the long-running reality TV dating series when it came to her area. The new season, which was filmed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, features a large group of singles who are hoping to find love sight unseen, but the drama in the pods and on the outside is sharp.
She saw red flags in Devin’s closed-mindedness.
Focusing on her relationship with Devin, who she met early in the pods, Brittany was a positive presence in the first episodes. After opening up to Devin about her dating history, which included relationships with men and women, the lukewarm reaction told her everything she needed to know. Speaking on her split with Devin, Brittany explained, “I like a man with humility, a guy who is willing to learn and grow. He seemed to be kind of set in his ways.” Explaining she saw red flags in Devin’s closed-mindedness, Brittany shared she knew their relationship “would have never worked out.”

Although Brittany and Devin’s Love Is Blind season 8relationship was sweet to watch unfold throughout their time in the pods, hearing that she felt his closed-minded attitude wasn’t the only red flag she saw in her pod squad partner was interesting. Sharing that Brittany felt that on top of his poor reaction to her opening up about her sexuality and past relationships, she felt that some of Devin’s personality came off like a mama’s boy, she wasn’t thrilled at the way he was coming across. Brittany’s initial reads on Devin turned out to be somewhat more complicated.
While Brittany felt Devin was a decent guy, she wasn’t invested in him the way she’d hoped she’d be on Love Is Blind. Throughout the experiment, Devin connected with Brittany and shared with Virginia Miller simultaneously in the pods. While Devin appeared torn about whether he was going to be with Brittany or Virginia, by the time he clashed with Brittany and underwhelmed her with his reaction to her past, he seemed to know he was going to be choosing Virginia. Devin’s reputation may not be that of a player, but he wasn’t completely straightforward on screen.

As Love Is Blind season 8 continues, it’ll unfortunately be without Brittany as a part of the cast. Though her time on the show was brief, it opened up Love Is Blind viewers to another side of the experience and clarified that there was room for cast members from all different backgrounds. Brittany’s decision to break up with Devin may not have been easy to watch, but it proved that she was confident enough in herself and her ability to make decisions that serve her. While Devin’s Love Is Blind journey continues, Brittany made the right call to end hers.
