I'll Only Keep Watching The Night Agent If These Season 2 Cast Members Return
The Night Agent season 2 introduced a handful of new characters to the main cast, and while not all of them managed to make it out of the explosive season, those who did had better come back. That is, if the showrunners hope to keep the series engaging in season 3. The Night Agent season 2 cast includes a lot of critical returning characters, from Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) to Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan). Some characters were surprisingly kept out of the story, like Chelsea Arrington (Fola Evans-Akingbola), who doesn't appear until the season finale.
What's even more exciting, though, is the gaggle of characters who are new to The Night Agent season 2 cast. Season 2 of the Netflix series takes place ten months after the end of season 1. Peter is now a full-fledged Night Agent with a new handler and a new mission. Things immediately go sideways right from episode 1, and enemies and friends emerge. With The Night Agent season 3 on the way, the best way for the show to keep up its high-octane thrills is to make sure these season 2 newcomers are back for more.
5 Jacob Monroe
Louis Herthum
Jacob Monroe, played by Louis Herthum, is introduced in The Night Agent season 2, episode 1, "Call Tracking". Jacob is a savvy businessman who has been playing a year-long con against the American government. In season 2, he uses his vast web of connections to not only uncover the secret Night Agent program, but he easily kidnaps Rose as well, holding her hostage. He uses this leverage to force Peter to steal a file from the UN, which he then in turn uses to force Peter to become his mole on the inside.

5 Ways The Night Agent Season 3 Can Fix Season 2's Biggest Criticisms
The Night Agent season 2 saw a drastic drop-off in Audience Score. Here are some points for improvement so season 3 can get back on track.
The contents of the UN file guarantee that the man Jacob has puppeteered becomes president, essentially giving the businessman behind-the-scenes power to one of the highest offices in the world. He ends season 2 as the victor. Naturally, Jacob has to return for The Night Agent season 3. We need to see Peter get out from under his thumb and take him down. Furthermore, Jacob is just a very fun villain who always seems one step ahead, thoughtfully crafting his plans and not worrying about who gets hurt.
4 Noor Taheri
Arienne Mandi
Noor Taheri (Arienne Mandi) makes her first appearance in The Night Agent season 2 in episode 1, "Call Tracking". Noor is a low-level assistant for the Iranian delegation heading to the United Nations in New York City. Noor is hoping that her access to important information will be a way to get her and her family into a better life. After her father is killed in the war and her best friend is killed by the police for publishing illegal stories, Noor decides the only chance for her family is to offer information to the Americans.
When the Night Agent program learns what Noor is doing, they recruit her and Peter becomes her handler. She gets close to Abbas Mansuri (Navid Negahban) and learns that he is in league with Jacob Monroe. At the end of the season, Noor succeeds in finding asylum for her family, and they move to Illinois, but it comes at the cost of Noor no longer trusting Peter and the Night Agent program. She has talent though, and The Night Agent season 3 could follow her return to the program as Peter trains her.
3 Javad Rahmani
Keon Alexander
Javad Rahmani, played by Keon Alexander, first appears in The Night Agent season 2, episode 1, "Call Tracking". Javad is the head of security of the Iranian UN team, which puts him right in the middle of the Night Agent investigation. It also puts him close to Noor, and the two strike up a romance, though Noor is using Javan's connections in order to get asylum for her family. Javad may have actually fallen in love with Noor, but he is cooking up his own schemes, double-crossing anyone in the way of his bid for power.
At the end of season, Abbas uses information provided by Noor to send Javan back to Iran in exile.
At the end of season, Abbas uses information provided by Noor to send Javan back to Iran in exile. Noor tricked Abbas into thinking she and Javad were conspiring against him, sealing his fate. However, Javad has not lost his lust for power, and he's still alive at the end of season 2. Someone like Javad will certainly be back in season 3, or at least he should be. With how many allies Jacob has lost in The Night Agent season 2, there's a good chance that Javan and Jacob find themselves on the same side.
2 Catherine Weaver
Amanda Warren
Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren) first appears in the premiere of The Night Agent season 2, "Call Tracking". She is Peter's new handler in the program, and also previously worked with Peter's father. While some members of the government are concerned with Peter and the Night Action team, Catherine reluctantly allows Peter to keep operating, believing in his capabilities. After Peter is compromised by Jacob, Catherine lets him go, telling him to work as a double agent for Night Action, showing her high degree of trust in him.
Catherine isn't just a good manager, she's also a very capable agent. She even manages to get the drop on Solomon Vega (Berto Colon), executing the dangerous mercenary before he can do the same to her. This is a character that absolutely needs to return in The Night Agent season 3. She has become as integral to the team as any character. Her history with Peter's father offers up some intriguing mysteries as well and season 3 will likely see her balancing her personal loyalties to Peter with her duties as a handler in Night Action.
1 Abbas Mansuri
Navid Negahban
Navid Negahban appears as Abbas Mansuri in The Night Agent season 2 beginning with episode 2, "Disconnected". Abbas is the distinguished and stone-faced Iranian ambassador to the UN. He's used to giving orders and, when he's treated with disrespect or disloyalty, has no problem punishing those he believes have wronged him. It turns out that Abbas is secretly working alongside Jacob, a fact which Noor discovers. When Noor's attempts to betray Iran are uncovered by Abbas, he declines to stop her.
Many years ago, his daughter fled Iran and is now a vocal opponent of the regime there. The information Noor learns will help his daughter, and even the career-minded and rule-focused Abbas can't turn his nose up at that. Abbas ends up discovering Javan's treachery and exiles him from the government. At the end of the episode, he heads back to Iran. Hopefully, he'll be a part of The Night Agent season 2 cast, returning for season 3. His relationship with Noor and how his daughter fits into all this will certainly come up again.
