I’m Not Sure Why Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Gary King Keeps Trying, But I Don’t Want Him Back On The Show (He’s Overcompensating For Bad Behavior)
Below Deck Sailing Yachtmay not be inviting Gary King back for another season after the sexual misconduct allegations and lawsuit that have changed the series, but he won't stop trying to overcompensate for his lack of a future on reality TV with his social media content, and I don't understand the decision. Gary, whose appearance on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 was trimmed down considerably after the allegations of sexual misconduct against him came to light, has been consistently sharing more on social media after the season. While some support Gary, most don't want to see him return.
Gary, who began appearing on the show during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, has made quite an impression on Below Deck viewers over the years. While he's always been known as a playboy who would try to find his way into any of the women's bunks throughout each charter season, Gary's time as a yachtie has proven that he's very capable when it comes to his job. Despite the fact that Gary's a good yachtie, his behavior has become indefensible throughout the years. Though he's vehemently denied the sexual misconduct allegations, Gary's public persona will never be the same.
Even taking the allegations out of consideration, Gary's always been inappropriate, and has made me uncomfortable just watching him on screen.
Gary King’s Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit Is A Bad Look For The Show
Regardless Of The Outcome, It's Not Good
After years of pushing the limits when it came to fraternization on board, Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Gary was allegedly caught in a bad situation. After a Below Deck production staff member opened up about a harrowing experience she says she shared with Gary during a promotional shoot day, it became clear that things couldn't continue in the same way they had in the past. Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 made a statement by choosing to edit Gary out as much as possible, though some hoped they'd reshoot the season without him.

Gary's sexual misconduct allegations were just a set of accusations for quite some time, but after a year, it came to light that theformer Below Deck staffer Samantha Suarez and her ex-boyfriend, another former member of Below Deck Sailing Yacht's crew, were suing Gary and the company that produces the show. With the lawsuit making it clear that they were pursuing genuine damages, Below Deck Sailing Yacht may have no choice but to sever ties with Gary entirely to save face. While Gary's denying the accusations, the lawsuit makes it difficult to move forward.
Gary Keeps Trying To Make It Seem Like He Could Be Back
His Posts Have Been Strange
Although Gary has allegedly been fired from Below Deck Sailing Yacht after a casting notice came out that seemed to be looking to replace him, the yachtie appears to be trying to prove he'll be back on social media. Consistently posting about the show, a recent post on Gary'sInstagram was bizarre, showing off all of his Below Deck Sailing Yacht headshots while making it seem like he'd be returning to the show. Though I'm sure Gary is hopeful he could come back for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 6, his social media overcompensation isn't going to erase the allegations.
I’m In The Majority When It Comes To Not Wanting To See Gary Return
If He's Back, I'm Out
Although some feel comfortable with Gary and may hope to see him back, I'm fairly certain I'm in the majority when it comes to the yachtie returning to Below Deck Sailing Yacht. I don't know if the allegations against Gary are true, but after reading into the lawsuit and seeing what was alleged, I can't help but feel like Gary's behavior has been inappropriate regardless. Even taking the allegations out of consideration, Gary's always been inappropriate, and has made me uncomfortable just watching him on screen. I'm hopeful that Below Deck Sailing Yacht recognizes they can move forward without him.
