I Think Marvel Rivals May Have A Secret Fifth Hero Coming This Season
Marvel Rivalsis gearing up for the second half of Season 1, but I think the developers have a surprise hero planned. Season 1 of Rivals has been a great success for the new hero shooter. The additions of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman have offered two new unique heroes to the roster. Meanwhile, a new map and quality-of-life changes have helped keep the game feeling fresh.
The second half of Season 1, while attempting to fix the three support meta with balance changes, is now confirmed to add the Central Park map, along with Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm. Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, is a fiery new aerial DPS that deals most of his damage with area-of-effect damage over time abilities. Meanwhile, Ben Grimm, The Thing, is a powerhouse Vanguard that uses his abilities to displace enemies, while being immune to any crowd control himself.
Fan Theories Suggest Blade Is Coming In Marvel Rivals Season 2
Following The Plan
Based on leaks, his recent inclusion in the Central Park map, and the developer's plans to release two heroes a season going forward, many believe that the vampire hunter Blade will not be released until Season 2. This is fair given that much of this season has already been soaked up by the Fantastic 4. Along with this, there has been no leaked information about Blade except for his model, whereas the Fantastic 4 had models and abilities leaked long before their release.
Why You Should Prepare For Blade This Season
A Fitting Surprise
Blade could be a surprise fifth hero for Season 1 for two big reasons: first, it would fit the theme more, and second, as a last big surprise for the players. Rivals seems to commit to seasonal themes that introduce heroes that fit. Whatever Season 2 may be, which is speculated to revolve around Ultron, it is unlikely to be something that Blade fits with. Though it would make sense he will be freed at the end of Season 1 when Dracula is defeated, it might be a bit underwhelming for a new season not themed around his area.
The other reason I feel Blade will come either at the end of Season 1 or just before it is due to how the development team has treated Rivals. So far, this is a team that cares about listening to feedback and breaking barriers for the genre. While four heroes in one season is already a massive boon, to surprise the audience with a fifth one that has largely been hidden would be a massive move. This also avoids the problem of forcing Blade into a season that would not fit him and allows for one of Marvel Rivals' other leaked characters to have his spot.

"You Know What Time It Is:" Marvel Rivals Reveals The Thing In New Gameplay Trailer
The Thing has finally been revealed in Marvel Rivals with a new gameplay trailer showcasing all of his clobbering action.
Whether Blade comes in Season 1 or 2, he is a new addition that fans are already excited about. Though much is still unknown, he is likely to be a Duelist who can heavily sustain himself given his vampiric powers. Regardless, I think there is reason to suspect Blade will join Marvel Rivals before the end of Season 1.
