Italian newspapers issue Allegri verdict as Juventus crisis continues

Massimiliano Allegri was blamed by Italian sports papers on Sunday following a 2-2 draw against Serie A strugglers Hellas Verona: ‘Juventus’ crisis isn’t over.’

The Serie A giants have only earned two points in the last four Serie A matches and were forced to a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Bentegodi on Saturday against Verona who are involved in the race for survival and sold 14 players in the January transfer window.

Italian sports papers on Sunday blamed coach Allegri and several Bianconeri players.

The Italian tactician was rated 5/10 by Gazzetta and Tuttosport and 5.5 by Corriere dello Sport.

‘Juventus do not have a clear identity; it’s hard to see an idea, provided there is one,’ wrote Gazzetta journalist Sebastiano Vernazza, who added the Old Lady didn’t even deserve to return to Turin with a point in their pockets.

Il Corriere dello Sport wrote pretty much the same thing, suggesting that it was ‘strange’ that Juventus didn’t lose the game.

Tuttosport noted that Juventus’ crisis ‘isn’t over’ and that Verona ‘scared’ the Bianconeri.

‘The opponents left their souls on the pitch, while Juventus didn’t,’ wrote Marina Salvetti.

Milan will leapfrog Juventus in second place if the Rossoneri beat Monza at the U-Power Stadium tonight.

Their next game is against Frosinone at the Allianz Stadium on February 25.
