Luka Jovic’s red card caused a debate between Raffaele Palladino and Stefano Pioli on the touchline, leading to a yellow card for the Monza coach.
Jovic was sent off at minute 51 after hitting Monza defender Armando Izzo in the face.
The Serbia international was initially given a yellow card, which changed to red after a VAR review on the pitchside screen.
As reported live by DAZN pitchside reporter Federica Zille, Milan players and staff members tried to defend Jovic, hinting that the ex-Real Madrid striker didn’t deserve a red card.
It led to an argument between Palladino and the Milan bench, including Pioli.
‘The Milan bench tried to minimize what happened, but Palladino reacted by saying that his player had been hit in the face. From that moment, the debate degenerated,’ said the journalist.
Jovic left the pitch without even complaining after seeing the red card.
The Rossoneri were 2-1 down, but an Olivier Giroud goal kept the Rossoneri in the game in the second half.
