Federico Chiesa has spent the majority of this season fighting for fitness, leaving Juventus and Italy in waiting for the star winger.
The 26-year-old Italian winger has missed four of the Bianconeri’s last seven league outings with a knee issue, still plagued by the initial cruciate ligament rupture he suffered over two years ago now. His struggles with injuries also saw him miss four of Italy’s six games under Luciano Spalletti.
Massimiliano Allegri has worked hard to carefully manage Chiesa’s condition and workload, limiting him to just one full 90-minute appearance since the start of October, affording him regular rest as he continues building up his fitness.
As underlined by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Juventus and Italy are both hoping Chiesa can finally manage to reach his full level of match fitness over the coming months, with his club fighting for the Scudetto and his country gearing up for the European Championships in the summer.
The 26-year-old hasn’t appeared in back-to-back Juventus games since early December and is now aiming to take part in the coming clash with Udinese on February 12.
