Kathryn Hahn’s Doctor Strange & Agatha Crossover Hopes Are Exactly What I Need From The MCU’s Future
Agatha All Along was one of the most fun and exciting series that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet released, and following recent comments by star Kathryn Hahn, I really need to see her titular character crossover with Doctor Strange in the franchise. While the MCU was built on the promise of crossovers, there has not recently been enough interplay between shows and movies in meaningful ways with certain characters and kinds of stories. The ones involved with the magical side of the universe have so much promise, and I need to see that built upon.
This is not to say that Marvel has not featured any crossovers in their stories. Daredevil appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in a meaningful role, and Hulk was essentially a co-lead in Thor: Ragnarok. However, so many new characters, including Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and Agatha herself, have not had the unique parts of their stories and characters integrated into the larger franchise as much as I would have liked. With Hahn's recent comments, I hope that more will come of her character in the future, especially alongside someone like Strange.
Kathryn Hahn's MCU Crossover Comments Make A Fascinating Marvel Meeting Even More Possible On-Screen
Hahn Appeared On Last Meals, Noting The MCU Characters She'd Like Agatha To Meet
Agatha Harkness is one of the most interesting characters to enter the MCU in recent years, and Kathryn Hahn recently opened up about which Avenger she'd like her to meet in the franchise. Agatha is generally a character associated with Wanda, and even with the Fantastic Four, sparking theories of MCU reappearances for Agatha in their upcoming film. However, Hahn answered a question about who she'd like Agatha to meet in the MCU during an appearance on the Mythical Kitchen show Last Meals, saying "I think Doctor Strange or Loki would be really fun."
While little is known about Agatha's next MCU appearance, there has been talk of an Agatha All Along season 2. While Agatha is dead, and exists now only as a ghost, death has never been an insurmountable obstacle in the franchise. Whether in another season of Agatha, or in a different Marvel project altogether, there are all kinds of stories that her character could fit into. However, one with Doctor Strange might actually work the best, if the studio can figure out a way to do it.
Why Doctor Strange & Agatha Harkness Meeting In The MCU Would Be So Interesting
The Marvel Characters Have A Surprising Amount In Common
Strange and Agatha meeting in the MCU is such a promising idea that I'm baffled that I didn't think of it sooner. Doctor Strange opened up the magical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that sector has only grown more important and complex with series like Agatha All Along. Agatha and Strange both have great knowledge of magic in the franchise, and there are countless intersecting stories that could be told with them together. Seeing them travel through magical dimensions alongside one another, casting incredible spells, would be so fulfilling.
Both characters are snarky, witty, and arrogant, and seeing Hahn and Benedict Cumberbatch play off of one another would be a lot of fun. Both have also faced incredible, insurmountable threats, in Death and Dormammu. There is a shared understanding of the magical and spiritual sphere of the MCU that is uniquely explored by these characters, and seeing them do so together would be so much fun. Rather than Clea, I'd like to see Agatha accompany Doctor Strange as a coupling in his next sequel.
When Doctor Strange & Agatha Harkness Could Meet In The MCU
Doctor Strange 3 Or A Future Avengers Film Make The Most Sense
After the cast was recently confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday without them, it is difficult to guess where Doctor Strange and Agatha are in the franchise. A Doctor Strange 3 has been teased, and this would be a great place for the two characters to appear alongside one another. Agatha is already embedded in the magical side of the MCU, and if the upcoming sequel explores the Dark Dimension, there would be many great opportunities for Agatha to appear. However, there is another film that might make more sense.
Avengers: Secret Wars will likely see the inclusion of all kinds of Marvel characters, both from movies and from TV. Doctor Strange is all but guaranteed for the film, and Agatha could also appear. Hopefully, the machinations of the plot could allow for Agatha and Strange to meet in the film, and to share a meaningful amount of screen time together. Other than this, if Agatha season 2 is made, it could see an appearance by Doctor Strange, similar to what was originally planned for WandaVision's ending.

"I Am Agatha:" Kathryn Hahn Reveals How She Mirrors Her MCU Role And What The Cast Of Agatha All Along Represents
Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn recently addressed how she parallels her iconic MCU role and how mythology influenced on her portrayal.
Even if Agatha All Along is done, I doubt that this is the last that we will see of Agatha in the franchise. She is an excellent character with a charismatic performer behind her, and audiences clearly wish to see more of her. I'd love to see her crossover with the larger MCU, and see the dynamic between her and characters like Loki and even Spider-Man. With that said, the thought of seeing Agatha and Doctor Strange together onscreen is too promising to avoid, and I hope that it happens in one of these future projects soon.
