Landman Season 2 Filming Window Seemingly Revealed (Even Though It Hasn’t Been Officially Renewed Yet)
Landman season 2 may have received a backdoor confirmation as the filming window has seemingly been revealed. Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ show is about modern-day oil rig workers and the people who live in the town that surrounds this enterprise. The Landman cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Jon Hamm, Kayla Wallace, and Paulina Chávez. The series has had one season so far, which aired 10 episodes from November 2024 to January 2025.
Despite the show's return not being confirmed, the Landman season 2 filming window has seemingly been revealed by Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Per the report, season 2 is filming later this month. The announcement was part of a casting call for extras, citing a post from the Texas-based casting agency Legacy Casting. One of the casting calls is for twin Latino boys around six months old, but they will also consider girls. They are also looking for stand-in actors for the leads. The casting notice stated the following:
“We don’t have exact dates yet but he could be needed throughout filming on and off for a few weeks. Filming is Fort Worth in the Benbrook area.”

This update for Landman season 2 comes before Paramount+ has made any official decision. The series did very well during its run on Paramount+, garnering high viewership numbers and positive reviews overall. The series got a 78% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, and between that and Sheridan's general dominance in the television landscape right now, the show's renewal seemed all but confirmed. Two months ago, Moore accidentally confirmed that a second installment was happening, saying, "I’m excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year."
In his review of the Landman finale, ScreenRant's Nick Bythrow gave the episode 8 out of 10 stars, writing: "Strong performances are elevated by writing that helps parallel different events from earlier in the show, helping the series come full circle as the Norris family finds their footing in a new world."
The specifics of the casting call also reveal new plot details about Landman season 2. This could be a casting call for Ariana's son, who is introduced in the first season. Her husband tragically dies in an oil rig accident, leaving her to raise their baby alone. If the listing requests that the child actor be six months old, Ariana's baby would still be very young during the prospective next season, maintaining the tension of her being a struggling single mother.

If this Landman update is accurate, this could be fantastic news for the series. The debut season began filming in February 2024 and wrapped in June 2024 for eventual release in November 2024. Paramount is highly committed to Sheridan-created shows, and this latest update suggests that Landman is no exception.
