Mike Maignan has reportedly turned down an initial contract extension from Milan, demanding a huge pay increase, putting PSG and Bayern Munich on alert.
The goalkeeper is currently tied to the San Siro club until June 2026 and on a salary worth €2.8m per season plus bonuses.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Milan proposed an extension that would almost double his wages to €5m per season plus bonuses, but that was rejected.
It is claimed his agents have asked for a massive leap up to €8m per year, which would put him on a par with Rafael Leao as the top earning player in the squad.
The Rossoneri are expected to make a counter-offer worth €6m plus bonuses, which is the same wage that Gianluigi Donnarumma was on before walking away as a free agent.
Milan certainly don’t want to make that mistake again, so if a deal cannot be reached, they could be tempted to sell Maignan to Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.
He was purchased from Lille in the summer of 2021 for €15.4m and is now worth in the region of €50m on the transfer market.

Probably the reason for the drop in form since December.
Sell that overrated Leao to keep Maignan. Anyway, I can understand if he chooses Bayern, but PSG? Money-wise, yeah they’re loaded, but obviously Milan & Bayern own PSG when it comes to history & trophies.
The ego on this average keeper is astounding , he should be booed for that alone!
