Man's decomposed body found behind Mumbai Hospital: Cops

Mumbai: A grim discovery shook residents of Mumbai's eastern suburb of Govandi as the highly decomposed body of a man was found behind Shatabdi Hospital, police said on Sunday.

A passerby spotted the body behind Shatabdi Hospital late on Saturday night and the police were informed, an official said.

According to authorities, the body, which bore signs of advanced decomposition, indicated the deceased's age to be between 35 to 45 years. Despite efforts to identify the individual, his name remains elusive, leaving investigators to sift through missing person reports in hopes of finding a match.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained and the police are examining missing persons complaints, the official said.

As the investigation unfolds, questions linger over the circumstances leading to the man's untimely demise. The need for stringent measures to address safety concerns and prevent similar occurrences in the future has become paramount, resonating across the city.

An accidental death report has been registered, he said.
