Chelsea FC v Fulham FC - Premier League Armando Broja Milan target

According to The Athletic, Milan made a last-ditch bid to take Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea, but missed out due to financial constraints.

This is hardly the first time that the Rossoneri have been linked with Broja, as the 22-year-old Albania international has long seen interest from several Serie A clubs, including Inter, Roma and Napoli.

He scored two goals and provided two assists in 19 competitive games for Chelsea so far this season, but is struggling for regular playing time after an anterior cruciate ligament injury in December 2022.

The Athletic claims that Milan made an approach today to get Broja on loan, potentially with an option to buy, but were forced to withdraw due to the financial constraints of the club.

Fulham have reportedly done a deal to take him on loan at a cost of €4.5m.

Instead, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are in discussions to do a deal before the transfer deadline, which is several hours later in England than in Italy.

Italy used to have financial benefits from the Growth Decree that allowed clubs to save 50 per cent on taxes for salaries on talents coming in from abroad, but that was scrapped on January 1.
