Netflix Rom-Com Movie Starring Sofia Carson Becomes Global Hit
Sofia Carson's latest romantic comedy-drama has enjoyed a strong debut on the Netflix global charts. Carson first rose to prominence playing the role of Evie in Disney's hit musical fantasy film Descendants and reprised her role in further installments of the series. She has also starred in other Disney projects, including Adventures in Babysitting, and the show Austin & Ally, as well as appearing in the Netflix romantic drama Purple Hearts and 2024's hit festive action thriller Carry-On, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
Carson has also enjoyed a successful music career, making her debut in 2015 as part of the Descendants soundtrack album, namely with the song "Rotten to the Core," which she released as a single. The Life List cast also includes Kyle Allen, Connie Britton, Sebastian de Souza, Chelsea Frei, and José Zúñiga. It is Brooks' first directorial effort since the 2008 Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy Definitely, Maybe.
