HBO's The Last of Us has won over audiences once more as protagonists Joel and Ellie continue their story in its second season. However, it seems Netflix will release a new miniseries that could compete withThe Last of Us season 2 not long after its premiere: The Eternaut. This Argentine series follows a man and his friends in Buenos Aires as they fight for survival after a mysterious and toxic snowfall wipes out most of the city's population.

While it's a unique post-apocalyptic drama based on a pre-existing story, TheEternaut shares plenty of similarities to The Last of Us that could attract fans of the latter when it premieres on Netflix on April 30, 2025.
