The appointments announced by the medical education department, follow the resignations of Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta as the principal of SMS Medical College and Dr Achal Sharma as the medical superintendent of SMS Hospital.

Dr Sushil Bhati is a professor of the Department of Anaesthesia at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He pursued his medical degree from Dr S N Medical College.

Dr Deepak Maheshwari is a Senior Cardiologist at SMS Hospital and has done DM in Cardiology.

Dr Maheshwari and Dr Bhati assumed their new roles immediately to ensure smooth operation and management of the medical college and hospital reports the Times of India.

Medical Dialogues team recently reported that Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta, principal of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College, and Dr Achal Sharma, superintendent, SMS Hospital have tendered their resignation from their posts voluntarily. While the state health department accepted the resignation of the two doctors, it removed Dr Sudhir Bhandari as the chairman of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO). This came after the Jaipur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested three hospital employees in the sale and purchase of fake no-objection certificates (NOCs) for organ transplants racket.
