Her reasons for such a drastic decision were the need to rest and recover after being diagnosed with PTSD due to her excessive and taxing work. Three months later, on March 31, Ai surprised fans by revealing that she had left her previous talent agency, Racoon Dog, and would begin working anew with the support of the Masou Promotion team.
