Outlander Prequel Series About Jamie & Claire's Parents Sets Release Date
Outlander: Blood of My Blood now has an official release date. The series is a prequel to Starz's romantic time travel drama Outlander, which is an adaptation of the Diana Gabaldon book series of the same name. The upcoming Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which was developed by Matthew B. Roberts, will follow the romances between the parents of both lead characters of the flagship show, namely Jamie's (Sam Heughan) parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Claire's (Caitríona Balfe) parents Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine).
Per Variety, Starz has announced that Outlander:Blood of My Blood is set to premiere on August 8. The show will then air weekly on Fridays. They have also released teaser posters offering glimpses of both couples, which can be seen below:

It Will Likely Debut Before Outlander's Final Season
This release date seems to confirm that Blood of My Blood will premiere ahead of the upcoming Outlander season 8, which will be the final season of the flagship series. While season 7 concluded in November 2024, it seems unlikely that it will premiere any earlier than August, considering the fact that there are only four months between this announcement and the prequel show's debut. Additionally, the show typically features long hiatuses between seasons that frequently last more than a year, so an eight-month hiatus would be unusual.
