Paddington In Peru Did Decently In Theaters
The announcement of the Paddington in Peru VOD release date comes after the film had a fairly successful run in theaters. After being released in the UK in late 2024, the film finally came to United States theaters on February 14. It brought in a decent return at the domestic box office, making $45 million. This tacked onto its strong international total to create a worldwide box office gross of $191.4 million. |---|---|---|---|---|
Paddington Film | Domestic Box Office | Worldwide Box Office | RT Critics Score | RT Audience Score |
Paddington (2014) | $76.2 million | $326 million | 96% | 80% |

Paddington in Peru (2024) | $45 million | $191.4 million | 93% | 91% |
This is a smaller total than both of the previous two movies, but still meant that the film had a strong winter box office performance. Paddington in Peru also got positive reviews, getting a 93% Tomatometer and 91% Popcornmeter from critics and audiences, respectively. One of the film's champions was Screen Rant's Simon Gallagher, who gave the movie 8 out of 10 stars, deeming the film "a fun, pleasantly charming family experience." Check out more of Gallagher's review below:
All-in-all, Paddington In Peru is a fun, pleasantly charming family experience, that is probably more consciously aimed at younger audiences, but then they are the king-makers when it comes to major box office wins. And I'm just happy to be able to enjoy a family film with broad enough appeal that my son could unironically call it a good time. No boredly asking when the end was coming, no fake trips to the toilet, no distracted foot tapping. All worth an extra star, even if it's not as good as its predecessor.
Our Take On The Paddington In Peru VOD Release Date
Paddington In Peru's Theatrical Run Worked Out For It
Paddington in Peru's theatrical release window was fairly extended, especially considering that its United Kingdom and North America releases were so far apart. Looking at the data, however, that appeared to be the right choice for the film. Though its worldwide gross did not come anywhere close to its predecessors, it was able to clear the domestic gross of the beloved Paddington 2. After doing so respectably in theaters, I would not be surprised if Paddington in Peruis successful again in its VOD sales.
