Paradise Season 2 Adds The Perfect Couple & Psych Stars As Filming Continues

Paradise season 2 has added The Perfect Couple and Psych stars to its growing cast of characters as filming on the Hulu original series continues. The positively-reviewed political thriller follows Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) searching for answers after President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) is murdered. Notably, the show takes place in a bunker in Colorado, three years after a catastrophic event happened in the United States. Paradise season 2 began filming in March 2025, following the cliffhanger ending of season 1 as Xavier exits the bunker in search of survivors.

According to Deadline, Michael McGrady and Timothy Omundson are joining Paradise season 2 in recurring roles. The two will be portraying characters part of a biker gang led by Link, a character portrayed by another newcomer to the show, Thomas Doherty. McGrady will play the leader's right-hand man, Geiger, while Omundson will play a member named Chef. This project also marks the third collaboration between Omundson and series creator Dan Fogelman, having roles in two of his previous shows, Galavant and This Is Us.

Shailene Woodley was also previously added as a recurring cast member for Paradise season 2.

What McGrady & Omundson's Casting Means For Paradise Season 2

Talented Actors Who Could Have Major Roles In The Story

McGrady previously portrayed Bruce Sacks in The Perfect Couple, having also held a recurring role as Captain Harrington in SEAL Team and providing motion capture for the video game LA Noire. As for Omundson, he's best known for playing Lassie in Psych, having played the character throughout the entire show and every subsequent movie sequel that's come out since. Both actors are talented enough to be welcome additions to the cast of Paradise, while their characters emphasize the importance of a bike gang in the story of season 2.

The political sci-fi thriller is a great sign for TV this year, though it routinely reveals itself to be better on paper than in practice.

The end of Paradise season 1 confirmed who killed President Bradford, while laying the groundwork for a new story after Xavier leaves the bunker. Based on the notes the President left behind, it seems around 55 million people are still alive on the surface, with the protagonist's wife possibly being one of them. McGrady and Omundson's Geiger and Chef could play critical roles in how the main character finds her, since their recurring capacity means they'll still be appearing regularly as the season progresses.

With McGrady and Omundson having a key part to place as characters on the surface, their roles can help expand the story of what's been going on beyond the bunker. While Xavier's search for his wife is clearly going to take precedence for him, the biker gang being a key part of what comes next means the two new characters will get a strong spotlight shone on them. This can help expand Paradise beyond its initial investigation, becoming more about the wider world it takes place in.
