Paradise Season 2 BTS Image Shows Xavier Collins Handcuffed, Shirtless, & Badly Injured
A Paradise season 2 behind-the-scenes image shows Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) in dire condition. Shortly after uncovering the truth about who assassinated President Cal Bradford (James Marsden), Xavier leaves the underground community and heads to the surface to find his wife, Teri Collins (Enuka Okuma). Despite the season 1 finale being released in early March, Paradise season 2 has already entered production, and several new cast members have been announced, including Big Little Lies' Shailene Woodley and Psych's Timothy Omundson.
The officialParadise page on Instagram has now shared several behind-the-scenes images from the filming of season 2. The first image shows Xavier handcuffed, shirtless, and badly injured, as one of his hands is bandaged, one of his eyes looks red and potentially infected, and he is hooked up to an IV. Several other images show Brown shirtless and outside his trailer. There is also a look at the cover page for the season 2, episode 2 script, which is written by Jason Wilborn and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Check out the images below:
Paradise creator Dan Fogelman also provided a closer look at Xavier and his red eye, along with the caption "Season two not playing around."
What This Means For Paradise Season 2
It Will Not Take Long For Xavier To Encounter Trouble On The Surface
The first image does not bode well for Xavier's journey to the surface. At the end of Paradise season 2, he is seen flying a plane that will aid in his quest to find Teri. If Xavier is handcuffed and injured by episode 2, he may no longer have the plane, and could become the captive of dangerous individuals that he encounters. The person responsible for his worrisome condition in the behind-the-scenes glimpse could be the new character played by Thomas Doherty, who is reportedly playing the leader of a biker gang.

The political sci-fi thriller is a great sign for TV this year, though it routinely reveals itself to be better on paper than in practice.
Season 2 will not waste any time in putting Xavier in a dangerous situation. However, his resourcefulness and experience as a Secret Service agent will help him navigate the danger he faces, and, based on the behind-the-scenes images, that may include breaking out of handcuffs. While Doherty's character is set to be an antagonist for Xavier, he will need help in order to find his wife. Some of the other recently announced additions to Paradise's cast will be part of the biker gang, but others could become allies that will join the mission to find Teri.

The Show Is Maintaining Its Intrigue
In an era where long hiatuses between seasons have become the norm, it is refreshing to see the quick turnaround between Paradise seasons 1 and 2. Releasing intriguing behind-the-scenes images that raise questions without giving anything away is an effective way to maintain the show's sense of mystery and suspense. Paradise season 1 has been one of my favorite shows of 2025 so far, and season 2 continues to be among the shows I am most looking forward to seeing return in the near future.
