Parents of Late Dr Vandana Das live in memory of daughter, Seek Justice

Kochi: Months after the tragic death of Dr Vandana Das, her parents are diligently tending to the Tulsi plants that have emerged in the vicinity where she peacefully rests, adjacent to their residence in Muttuchira Nampichirakala while awaiting justice for their dead daughter.
Recently, the Kerala High Court dismissed a plea seeking a transfer of probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the brutal killing of Dr Vandana Das. The court has also denied bail to the accused. As per a recent media report by Kerala Kaumudi, KG Mohandas, the father of the victim stated, "We will approach the division bench next week. There is hope in court. We live in her memories now."
MP for Thiruvananthapuram and famous writer Shashi Tharoor also expressed grief over the sudden demise of the doctor and stated, "A moving but emotionally searing visit to the parents of Vandana Das, the 25-year-old doctor murdered by a patient brought in by the police with inadequate safeguards. While recognizing that nothing would bring back their only child, I pledged that her death would not be in vain. I promised to pursue the issue by moving a private member’s bill in Parliament to protect medical personnel, which I have dubbed the Vandana Das Act."
