Pokémon Presents Confirmed With A Date & Time Ahead Of Pokémon Day 2025

The Pokémonfranchise's annual celebration is right around the corner, and a Pokémon Presents livestream has just been confirmed for the occasion. Pokémon Day 2025 is expected to finally bring new information on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and will likely shed light on many other projects, including Pokémon GO updates, upcoming Pokémon TCG sets, and news on the ever-popular and long-running anime.

The next Pokémon Presents has been set for February 27, 2025, at 9am ET/6am PT, according to the official Pokémon X (formerly Twitter) account. For viewers in the U.S., this is on the morning of Pokémon Day itself, which has traditionally taken place yearly on February 27.

The announcement itself provides very little insight into what the Pokémon Presents will entail, simply including a link that redirects to The Official Pokémon YouTube channel, where the livestream will premiere. The tweet is accompanied only by a short video of Pikachu wandering in and out of frame behind the Pokémon Presents logo.

Pokémon Day 2025 Celebrations Are Already Underway

Pokémon Day Has Been Named A National Holiday

As if Pokémon Day wasn't celebrated enough, The Pokémon Company International has announced via a separate press release that it has partnered with the National Day Calendar to declare February 27 National Pokémon Day in the U.S. The gesture is a testament to the long-running impact the iconic multimedia franchise has had on American pop culture: "This recognition and elevation of Pokémon Day is a testament to the enduring impact that Pokémon has had on Trainers of all ages, backgrounds and interests for 29 years."

Although February 27 is the heart of the celebration, especially with the Pokémon Presents airing that morning, the entire month has already been dedicated to Pokémon, and 2025 is the Year of Eevee, with merchandise themed around the beloved Pokémon releasing throughout the year. There is also an ongoing distribution event, ending on February 27, for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet featuring a Flying Tera-type Eevee, which has sprouted rumors of a new Eeveelution being revealed on Pokémon Day this year.

Also ongoing is a special Pokémon GO event surrounding Eevee. Until Pokémon Day on February 27, participating retailers have Lure Modules active, giving players a chance to catch more Pokémon. Starting February 24, "Glacial and Mossy Lure Modules will be added, giving fans the opportunity to evolve Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon."

Pokémon TCG isn't getting left out either: Play! Pokémon events are already scheduled for participating Pokémon League locations on the 27th. These non-competitive events are designed to give players of all skill levels a chance to play the TCG, and will include giveaways of items like a Sylveon promo card, various other promo cards, demo decks with Pikachu ex and Charizard ex, and a variety of Pokémon TCG accessories.

What We Expect From The Pokémon Presents On February 27

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is The Suspected Headliner

The Pokémon Company didn't offer any hints as to what will be included in the Pokémon Day 2025 Pokémon Presents, but this has long been suspected to be the reemergence of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The Lumiose City-set follow-up to Pokémon Legends: Arceus was announced at Pokémon Day 2024, but has yet to receive a second trailer.

There is also the potential for a new Pokémon TCG Pocket set to be revealed during the Pokémon Presents, since datamining suggests a new set releasing on February 28, which would be the day after Pokémon Day. This is expected to be another mini-set with the designation "A2a," which would likely make it a similar size to the Mythical Island set. "A3," the third dual-pack set after Genetic Apex and Space-Time Smackdown, is expected in April, and could also conceivably be announced at the Pokémon Presents.

There will likely be announcements pertaining to the physical Pokémon TCG as well, and Pokémon GO will almost certainly make an appearance in some capacity. Those with a larger interest in the franchise can expect some news regarding the Pokémon anime or other film and television ventures. With the date and time now announced, though, news will likely be scarce for a week until everything is revealed at the Pokémon Presents on February 27.
