Prime Gaming Hands Out 22 Games In April Including Mafia 3 And Minecraft Legends
Amazonsubscription service Prime Gaming unveiled the list of titles users can claim in April 2025, and the featured games include some stellar releases. With the prevalence of subscription services in the video game industry, a trend bolstered by services like Humble Choice and Xbox Game Pass, Prime Gaming is holding its own by offering consumers sheer volume. The service usually dishes out around 20 games a month for users to keep, a big factor that helps maintain its relevance in a highly competitive space.

The headliners for April 2025 are undoubtedly Mafia 3 and Minecraft Legends, but players looking to appreciate smaller indie gems are also in luck. Cult-classics like Berserk Boy and Gravity Circuit should keep subscribers busy for a while, while those wanting more of a challenge should look into The Last Spell or Gloomhaven.
Mafia 3 Is An Excellent Open-World Game
With A Truly Fantastic Story
While it may lack the detail of something like Grand Theft Auto 5, fans of open-world action-adventure games should still check out Mafia 3. A game that takes itself far more seriously than Rockstar's seminal title, what's perhaps most compelling about the experience is the story of Lincoln Clay, a man who's driven down a path of violence and intrigue to take revenge on the organization that wronged his family. If that sounds a little too heavy, Minecraft Legends could be the perfect palate cleanser as a fun, light-hearted action-RPG romp.
Prime Gaming is also offering subscribers a chance to return to the classics with Thief Gold, arguably one of the most influential games ever made. Sticking to the shadows and pulling off heists is always fun, but players looking for something even more strategic should check out Endless Space, a massive 4X strategy game that spans the cosmos. Horror fans should also make a point of playing Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, a compelling action game that places dark magic and vampires at its core.

A Solid Month For Prime Gaming
Subscribers Shouldn't Ignore Those Indies
I will personally vouch for Mafia 3's excellence, but I also want to point out that Amazon Prime Gaming's April 2025 offerings include two of my favorite indies in recent years: Berserk Boy and Gravity Circuit. Both are 2D side-scrollers that draw heavily from classics like Mega Man X and Ninja Gaiden, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to appreciate a fair challenge with some retro gameplay. Massive open-worlds are great, but it's difficult to beat a well-made throwback that pays homage to the legends that came before.
