The Milano City Council has presented a project to refurbish the Stadio Meazza in a final attempt to convince Milan and Inter to stay at San Siro.

The project was presented on Wednesday by Milano’s Mayor Giuseppe Sala.

“We don’t only hope but we want to push the Milanese clubs to consider for one last time the value of staying in Milano,” said Sala, as quoted by Sky Sport Italia.

Arco Associati made the new project, which features a fourth tier with more VIP seats and services such as bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a general refurbishment inside and outside the Stadio Meazza.

It is worth over €300m, and according to Milannews, Sala will soon meet Milan and Inter directors to discuss the project as neither club have officially decided to move away from San Siro.

Nevertheless, Milan and Inter seem unconvinced about the project and are willing to continue working on different plans to build one new club-owned stadium each.

This past December, Inter published the first pictures of their volumetric project for a new stadium in Rozzano, while Milan are working to build their new arena in the Area of San Donato, just outside the city of Milano.

Giuseppe Sala will go down in history as the idiot who lost Milano both of it’s football teams. A disgrace
of a mayor.
