PS Plus April 2025: Every Essential, Extra, & Premium Game Coming This Month
April 2025's additions to PlayStation Plus have been announced, bringing new games to subscribers in all three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Sony's gaming subscription service is compulsory for anyone interested in playing multiplayer games online, and PS Plus is required for any game that isn't free-to-play. The silver lining is that subscribers are entitled to at least three games each month at no additional cost, which remain available for as long as their subscription remains active.
PS Plus' monthly free games have been a long-standing tradition, and even outlasted the competition – Xbox's Games with Gold was phased out alongside the Xbox Live brand. More recently, though, PlayStation Plus' more expensive tiers were introduced as a direct competitor to Xbox Game Pass, supplying a rotating catalog of games to download on demand. While PS Plus' monthly games are up and down in terms of quality, there's usually something that might be of at least passing interest, and April 2025's new games are no different.
Every Game Coming To PS Plus Essential Tier In April 2025
Monthly Games Available April 1
April 2025's PlayStation Plus Essential lineup is quite an eclectic selection: RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory. According to the PlayStation Blog, all three of these games will be available for download at no additional cost starting April 1, and can be claimed until May 5. None of these are necessarily blockbuster additions to the service, especially compared to last month's surprising inclusion of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but they're all notably part of popular franchises.

"A Great Game & Everything An Adaptation Could Wish For" - RoboCop: Rogue City Review
Robocop: Rogue City delivers an inspired and enthusiastic take on the classic franchise, even if some of its budgetary constraints are apparent.
RoboCop: Rogue City takes place between the events of the RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3 films, and delightfully sees Peter Weller reprising his role and voicing the protagonist. Similarly, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is set prior to the original 1974 film, and even though the asymmetrical multiplayer title is light on story, it builds on the backstory of the iconic Leatherface's family. Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory is the sixth installment of the Digimon Story series, but a direct follow-up to Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
