What did I like about Quechua Men's Warm Water-Repellent Hiking Trousers - SH500?
I used these trousers on the Dayara Bugyal trek in December 2024, where temperatures dropped to 0°C and below. They kept me warm the whole time, and the water-repellent fabric really helped while walking through snow. Even after sitting on snow or brushing against it for long stretches, my legs stayed dry and comfortable. They’re also surprisingly light and easy to walk in with no stiffness.
What I did not like about Quechua Men's Warm Water-Repellent Hiking Trousers - SH500?
The price is on the higher side. At around ₹2,500, you do feel like you’re paying a premium. Also, these trousers are mainly useful for winter treks—you won’t use them much in normal weather. So the value depends on how often you trek in cold conditions.
Moreover, I found them a bit heavier for a recent Nag Tibba trek which I did in May 2025.
Side note - I found these for ₹1500 as well during May on the Decathlon website. So one can keep a watch on the Decathlon app for better prices.
Pros
- Warm enough for zero and negative temperatures
- Water-repellent, perfect for snow and light moisture
- Light and comfortable to walk long distances in
- Dries quickly if snow melts on it
- Good fit and flexibility
Cons
- Slightly expensive
- Not very useful for normal treks/ hikes
- Can feel a bit warm with the sun
Final Verdict: Is Quechua Men's Warm Water-Repellent Hiking Trousers - SH500 worth buying?
Overall, I liked the trousers and I don’t regret buying them. They kept me warm, dry, and comfortable throughout the trek, and it handled snow really well. If you trek in winter conditions, these are a solid choice. If not, the price might not feel worth it.
