Rafael Leao insists he is not feeling ‘pressure’ to end his goal drought for Milan against Frosinone and thanks Stefano Pioli. ‘The coach understood how to help me, I understood how to help him.’

The trip to Frosinone kicks off at the Stadio Stirpe at 17.00 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

“The team and coach support me, so I always try to help the side even when I do not score goals,” Leao told DAZN.

“I realise the responsibility I have within this squad, but I do not feel the pressure. The team comes first, then the individuals. We are doing well and that is the most important thing.”

Much has been said about the relative lack of goals from Leao so far this season, as he has not found the net since September 23 against Verona.

“Clearly, I do miss scoring goals, but you can’t force these things. You have to play for the team and then it will come by itself. The attitude of a striker must be to help the team and then the goals are a bonus.”

There has been a great deal of speculation around the future of Pioli at Milan, but Leao is one of those most eager for him to remain.

“It was a bit of a strange rapport at first. The coach has understood how to help me, I understood how to help him, so we are very close and care for each other. He is the person here who wants to take me to the top of my game.”

Frosinone have a strong home record, as 20 of their 23 points were earned on home turf this season.

“We know they play good football and are on home turf, but we want to bring three points home.”

Today is Leao’s 150th Serie A appearance, all of them in the Milan jersey.

“I must thank the club that allowed me to play, so reaching this milestone is a moment of pride for me and my family. I hope to celebrate with a victory.”
