According to reports in Spain, the agent representing Brighton and Hove Albion coach Roberto De Zerbi is meeting with Barcelona director Deco to discuss his future at Camp Nou.

The Italian tactician has emerged as one of the hot favourites to replace Xavi Hernandez next season, as the current boss already announced his departure.

Hansi Flick is another option, although he has also been linked with a return to Bayern Munich until the end of the campaign to take over from Thomas Tuchel as well.

Spanish site Relevo claim that De Zerbi’s agent was in Barcelona today and met with director Deco, although Edmundo Kabchi and Edoardo Crnjar also represent player Ronald Araujo.

De Zerbi has supporters such as former Blaugrana coach Pep Guardiola, now fresh from the Treble at Manchester City, who note his style of football is well suited to the role.

Mikel Arteta seems committed to Arsenal, while Xabi Alonso seems more inclined towards Liverpool once Jurgen Klopp leaves, especially considering his past at Real Madrid.
