Sims Competitor inZOI Is Already Winning Players Over With "Very Positive" Rating On Steam
Life simulation game and The Sims competitor inZOI has been released in Steam Early Access, and has already landed itself an impressive player review score. Initially announced via a gameplay demo at G-STAR 2023, the game has been eagerly awaited by many looking to rekindle their love for the life sim genre, particularly for those who have lost interest in The Sims.
Today, March 28, marks the beginning of inZOI's early access launch, and already players are impressed. At the time of writing, most of the reviews on Steam are glowingly positive, with many referencing their time as TheSims players. Currently, the game stands as "very positive," giving great impressions of this much-awaited new project.
What Fans Are Saying About inZOI
People Are Already Looking Forward to the Game's Future
Fans of the game are already buzzing about various aspects of inZOI, with plenty of reviewers noting how they've been greatly impressed so far. Various comments praise the character creator in particular, along with fans' personal experiences with the game. Players are also praising the developers for listening to feedback, while others are already looking forward to what's coming next.
Sparx419, notably a "long-time Sims player," remarked on the wonders of the game's character creator, stating it "is incredibly detailed, allowing for more realistic and unique Zois right from the start. The graphics are also a huge step up from The Sims 4, with smoother animations and a more natural look."

I Can't Tell If InZOI Is Too Good To Be True, Or If The Sims Has Lowered My Expectations
InZOI has been hyped up as a Sims killer, but I can't tell if it's too good to be true, or if I just have low expectations after years with The Sims.
Other players were happy about the removal of the DRM system Denuvo, making it easier for modding. Player Joeoie noted, "I want to give a W to the devs for removing Denuvo". They also stated their optimism about the game, saying, "The future looks bright for inZOI."
On the flip side, however, some players are not quite on board yet. Twomajor complaints that have players concerned are the number of technical issues and the overall lack of in-game content. Steam user GosuDRM enjoyed the character creator, but stated, "Beyond that, there’s just not much to do. The world feels empty, interactions are shallow, and it lacks meaningful gameplay." Another player, Volney, noted a game-breaking issue, saying "Currently crashes to desktop while building, wiping all progress."
Can inZOI Topple Sims?
The New Game Still Has A Lot to Prove
The Sims has been a popular, long-running franchise for over two decades now. Like many games, The Sims has had its fair share of ups and downs over the years. For those who are tired of it and looking to find something brand new in the genre, however, inZOI may be just what they're looking for.
It's still early days for inZOI. But the developers have already shown they're willing to listen to players. The next major steps for the game are to work on alleviating glaring technical issues, and keep content updates coming long-term. While the customization is impressive and the graphics look fantastic - despite a fairly big ask for PC specs - the game needs to make sure that players are in this for the long-haul and have reasons to keep coming back. The Sims is known for adding fun new gameplay mechanics with its multiple expansions, so let's hope inZOI has a lot up its sleeve for the future.
