Sinners Rotten Tomatoes Score Debuts As Ryan Coogler’s Highest Ever, And That’s Saying Something
The Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for Sinners. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film is a supernatural period piece about twin brothers (both played by Michael B. Jordan) who revisit their hometown only to discover that there is a greater evil waiting for them. The movie features a leading cast including Jordan, Jack O'Connell, Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld, Saul Williams, Miles Caton, and Li Jun Li. It is Coogler's first feature since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022. Sinners is set for release on April 18.

One of Sinners' champions is a notable name in the film industry himself: Spike Lee. After seeing an early screening of the movie, Lee could not have had better things to say about Coogler's film. Taking to social media, Lee noted that he "Just Had The Greatest Experience Of Watching A Film In Years." He called Sinners "BLACK CINEMATIC POWER" in an enthusiastic post. Lee's ringing endorsement is now further supported by the strong critical reception of Sinners overall.

This Is A Good Sign For Sinners' Box Office
Sinners' impressive Rotten Tomatoes debut is a good sign for the movie's box office. Coogler's films have generally done well on a financial level, but this is the first time the director has helmed a completely original story, with no based-on-a-true story narrative or existing IP to work off of. While a riskier effort than an MCU movie, the glowing reviews of Sinners make it more likely that the film will succeed theatrically.
