Latin lover Domingo has been a fan-favorite of the sketch comedy series, and recently appeared in a new live sketch as the thorny homewrecker between newlyweds Kelsey (Chloe Fineman) and Matthew (Andrew Dismukes). While Sabrina Carpenter and the rest of the bridesmaids do a rendition of Wicked's "Defying Gravity," Pascal's Ronaldo is revealed to be Domingo's brother and Matt's ex gay-lover, alongside another brother: Bad Bunny's Santiago.

Mezz Entertainment dubbed Domingo's anniversary sketch as their "AVENGERS ENDGAME MOMENT," drawing a comparison to Engame's "Avengers assemble" scene, which saw the Avengers and their allies arrive in epic fashion at the battlefield to fight against Thanos.

Spencer Althouse at Buzzfeed said they "need a minute" after watching Pedro Pascal play a gay lover who Sabrina Carpenter then "twerks on."

Athena said they were "crying" that the Domingo saga was wrapped up with a "sabrina carpenter wicked battle," writing "ok snl i see u."

User @wandasattorney barely had words for the sketch as watching Sabrina Carpenter perform "Espresso" with Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, and Domingo elicited the following keyboard smash reaction: "UDHAGSBAJDJENDNSNKAMDNENSNCJJSJSNFJWKAMQKDIF."

Giselle said that the Domingo skit, which also featured Andy Samberg as a groomsman singing another parody song about Ronaldo, was "the best thing ever."

Jamie said it was "so perfect" that the Domingo saga began with an Ariana Grande-hosted episode where she sings Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso", and Carpenter finishes the sketch off with a rendition of "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.

Other reactions have not been so positive, as Sydney White writes that the Domingo sketch has been "RUN into the ground," and begs for SNL to "give it a rest."

It’s no surprise that SNL sought to capitalize on the momentum by revisiting the character multiple times, and packing the plot with A-listers. While many of the reactions to the ongoing gag have been positive, particularly applauding the star-studded ensemble of the latest chaotic rendition, others feel like it's time to leave the Domingo sketch behind. In a review for SNL's 50th anniversary episode, ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns wrote, "the bit not only ran too long but also began to lose its own plot."
