Take-Two Interactive CEO Says Company "Fully Expects To Support Switch," Opening The Doors For Potential GTA6 On Switch 2

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has remarked that the Grand Theft Auto 6 developer is prepared to fully support the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Zelnick made a statement to this effect during an earnings call with investors, where the company's recent performance was analyzed and predictions were made for the upcoming year.

During the investor call, Zelnick also spoke about the company's "longstanding relationship with Nintendo," reports Nintendoeverything. "While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch," Zelnick said during the call. The CEO's words make it clear that fans can expect to see more of Take-Two's lineup of games come to the Nintendo Switch and the still unreleased Switch 2. This may indicate that the long-awaited GTA 6 might eventually come to the Switch 2 or its current-gen version.

Fans Can Expect More Take-Two Interactive Games On Nintendo Consoles

Nintendo's Target Audience Now Aligns With Take-Two's

Zelnick noted that Nintendo has changed over the years, starting out as a company that was geared more toward younger audiences. At that time, many of Take-Two's games didn't make it to Nintendo's platforms, only releasing games that "made sense for the individual release." Now, though, the Switch and the upcoming successor, the Switch 2, "can support any audience," stated Zelnick.

Thanks to this shift in Nintendo's platform and audience, Take-Two interactive has been bringing more of its titles to the Switch, and plans to continue to do so. Zelnick mentions Civilization 7, which is releasing on all platforms including the Switch on February 11. Zelnick's nod at Nintendo's current and upcoming consoles may indicate that Take-Two Interactive plans to bring more of its games to the Switch and Switch 2. This may even mean that GTA 6 will be available on the console, perhaps even at launch, though the company hasn't confirmed anything related to this yet.

Take-Two Interactive's Investor Call Confirmed GTA 6 Is Still Coming In Fall 2025

As Of Now, GTA 6 Is Set To Launch As Planned

In addition to speaking about Nintendo and Take-Two Interactive's stance on the Switch, the investor call revealed some good news for fans of GTA 6. According to the report, GTA 6 is still on track for a fall 2025 release, along with the company's other big titles like Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, the latter of which is scheduled to launch in summer 2025.

Although there's still no specific release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, fans can be fairly confident that they'll be able to play the title by the end of 2025. Whether the game will also be available on the Switch or the Switch 2 remains to be seen. More details will likely be revealed as both the Switch 2 and GTA 6 near their release windows later this year.
